J.K Rowling Announcement Coming
 

So don't know how many of you guys are into the whole Harry Potter franchise, but for those of you who are, some potentially exciting news: Rowling has registered a website (www.pottermore.com), and has a youtube page hyping up an announcement that should land on Thursday.

Rumors are swirling as to if it'll be an 8th Potter novel, a thorough encyclopedia of the Potter universe, just the debut of the new website (bleck), or even hype for the movie (double bleck). Thoughts, comments?

If I were her, I'd keeping writing those crappy books until I died..... They could be terrible and people would still buy them.....

I'm amused by it, generally. Several of my friends bitch every time one of the movies comes out about how awful it'll be, how the movies always suck, whatever. So I ask, "So you're not going to see this one, right?"

And they always line up opening night for the midnight show.

Yeah I loved the HP franchise. Moderately excited about the announcement.

Of course there will be an 8th book, which will lead to another movie, which will lead to another book and another movie, over and over again until Harry Potter is in an old folks home suffering from Alzheimer's. Then she can do a Harry Potter: the Next Generation spinoff.

Not sure how many saw it on yahoo but they said a leaked story about the announcment is that there will be a online Harry Potter game that mixes World of Warcraft elements with a real life treasure hunt

This is pretty much what it ended up being. Disappointed, but I won't lie and say I won't give it a look.

Looks like the only thing Sony is doing is hosting the website on their servers and getting a share of revenue since its unrelated to anything on PSN or the Playstation brand.

Its mostly going to act as a store for the eBooks once they get released and other stuff for sale with the encyclopedia part being whatever the author uploads to the website for the series.

The treasure hunts and gaming part of the website is tied with the uploaded storylines rather than being a game by itself.

I kinda think the ebook release might be the bigger story here.
