DAMN homey......this angle used to be the plan homey........
.....the fuck happened to you??? The Nexus, Kharma before the pregnancy, CM Punk/Jeff Hardy before the court dates. These are just a handful of wrestling angles that started out with so much promise, only to be prematurely ended, lose steam, or fall off the face of the earth before its true culmination. TPWW Forum, discuss some of your most disappointing angles of all time.
|
Nexus - Bunch of rookies, infighting, injuries.
Kharma - unplanned pregnancy, not WWE's fault. CM Punk/Jeff Hardy - Hardy left the damn company. |
Damn homey.

I thought this was a Smokey thread

The Punk/Hardy feud went to completion and was one of the best feuds in years. What the fuck are you talking about
|
However, Al Snow vs Bossman was a great feud.
|
And who could ever forget the whole InVasion angle in 2001? Such a waste.
|
best example is the limo explosion angle being cut short thanks to one Christoper Benoit.

I think that all of us, as wrestling fans, would have preferred Benoit to not go all murder-suicidey on his family. And on that note, I would have also liked to have seen where the Punk/Benoit match for the ECW Championship at that year's Night of Champions would have progressed. |

Like when Punk, Teddy Long and Scott Armstrong "screwed" The Undertaker (leading up to the comedically great "Buckle up, Teddy!" bit), and it was made apparent that Vince had something to do with it...until it was entirely dropped. I kind of thought that they were going to do some sort of "Corporation" type angle, with Vince McMahon wanting CM Punk to be the World Champion because of his straight-edge lifestyle and being a "good role model" for the company. I believe Kane was a heel at the time, and a couple of years previous (I know this is stretching it) there was talks of having Vince and Kane connected on-screen. I thought that we'd get CM Punk, Kane and Drew McIntyre as Vince McMahon's heel charge on SmackDown!. We didn't get that, though, and a little while later, it was rumoured that Festus would be paired with CM Punk -- and then we got The Straight-Edge Society. |

Goldust with the Million Dollar Title. He stole it from Ted Jr, and then gave it back to Ted Sr because he was going out with an injury. I like how they did something with the title, but I would have rather seen Goldust (in good shape) in an angle with Ted Jr for longer.

someone FILL ME IN on that comedic Buckle up Teddy stuff. |

Thanks for that catch, Iginfest. The man I am certainly took precedence over the fan I am as it relates to this case. This was one of the most tragic events to ever occur in not just wrestling, but in society in general. Initially, I was probably like everyone else, in disbelief. I was so saddened during the tribute special on RAW that next day. Then when the results of the investigation came out, it turned to anger and shock. I'm pretty sure that there is still a divide between those that respect Benoit for his in-ring acccomplishments, and those who loathe him for being a cold-blooded killer.
|
Non-wrestling fans totally would have preferred for Benoit to go all murder-suicidey on his family.

Not doubting the quality of the feud at all, nor it's impact. I'm just saying that I wish Jeff would've never left the company entirely. Maybe he would have left the scene for a little bit, like everyone does, and come back to kick Punk's ass. It would've worked in this Little-Jimmy-friendly WWE that we are exposed to. |
