ipad email client won't connect to gmail
 

So I'm trying to help out a friend with her iPad. When she tries to use the email "app" or whatever, it tells her that the username or password for imap.google.com or whatever it is is incorrect. The username and pass are correct, though, since I can log her in via the web browser.

I know fuck all about apple products, so I tried teh google and found that this seems to be a common problem. I tried as many solutions as I could find (deleting and re-entering the account, using the "other" setting to add the account and manually inputting data), but nothing seems to fix the problem.

Anyone got any tips that might correct this?
