Live spoilers for next week's Raw
http://www.wrestlingnewsworld.com/ww...ne-27-2011.php
* The Money in the Bank briefcase is suspended above the ring. * The show starts with WWE Champion John Cena coming to the ring and he cuts a promo about CM Punk getting suspended for his comments that ended last week's show. Cena wanted to know why he was suspended for speaking his mind and went above the General Manager's head and called Mr. McMahon for an explanation. * WWE Divas Champion Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres b. The Bella Twins * Backstage, R-Truth is on the phone and Scott Stanford comes over and asks him about getting another number one contenders match. Alberto Del Rio walks up to him and tells him it's his destiny to become the number one contender. * WWE Tag Team Champions David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty b. Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov to retain after a McGillicutter. After the match, Zack Ryder hits the ring and says Woo Woo Woo then goes backstage. * Backstage, The Miz cuts a heel promo on Alex Riley. He brought Riley to WWE and he'll take him out. * Jack Swagger b. Sgt. Slaughter. After the match, Swagger put Slaughter in the ankle lock. Evan Bourne came out and made the save. Sgt. said the pledge of allegiance. Keep refreshing this page throughout the night for the latest updates. |
Can't believe they didn't show Punk getting suspended. This is a ridiculous storyline along the scales of Nexus last summer.
|
Ryder on Raw WWWYKI
Looks good so far. |
* Alberto Del Rio b. Rey Mysterio & R-Truth in a triple threat match to become the new number one contender for the WWE Championship after using his cross armbreaker.
WTF? They are really playing up the Punk suspended angle here. Can't be true, right? :'( |
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Taz posted the following on Twitter regarding CM Punk's on last night's WWE Raw:
Steve Austin: @CMPunk just melted my 52 inch TV with a scorching hot promo...delivery, content, and attitude...one of the best promos I've ever seen. Taz: Punk did a great job & I always liked him when we were in wwe together and his work! But I must say... There r many of us who were NEVER pushed to the level Punk was & were NEVER allowed to shoot like that, he's lucky he was allowed to do that |
Like I said in Chat, this will inevitably end with Punk winning the belt and HHH coming back to defend the McMahon family honor at Summerslam in a match vs Punk, likely with the rumored stip of HHH's career on the line.
either that or Ryder gets put in MITB, wins the case and cashes in later on and becomes the first one to lose. |
I bet Punk wins Money In The Bank and cashes in on Cena at the end of the night
probably not, but it would be sweet |
* WWE United States Champion Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero come out. Vickie says since it's the birthday of the United States that the United States Champion deserves a birthday party too. Dolph says while he is champion the US title is the only one that matters. Kofi Kingston comes out and says Ziggler can't beat him without Vickie. They brawl and Vickie gets pushed into a cake.
Please get back to the main story. I bet Vince or someone comes out at the end to address Punk's scenario. |
* Alex Riley b. The Miz with a schoolboy pin. After the match, The Miz attacks Riley by throwing him to the crowd and into the steel ring steps. He throws him through the announce table and delivers a boot to the face. Miz walks away after the assault.
* Mr. McMahon comes out to discuss the suspension of CM Punk. He says he deserved it when John Cena comes out. Cena asks what happened to Vince the fighter and wants to know if Punk got under his skin. Ok, NOW we are talking :D |
* McMahon says the real reason he suspended CM Punk is because he didn't want him to walk out of WWE with the title. Cena says what if he says something about people being replaceable. Cena throws the belt at Vince and walks away. McMahon reinstates Punk but says if Cena loses at Money in the Bank, he's fired.
YAA BOIIIIII, ITS ON NOW!!!!! |
I just don't get it. How can John Cena be so fucking good that he's going to bat for Punk? I mean, it's like he's the ultimate Superhero who can do no wrong, and will even save his foes.
|
No way Cena gets "fired" twice within an year.
|
lol so basically if Cena loses, he's fired.
Way to make it obvious Cena's winning. Like, you can't even leave that little bit of hope alive? |

Last bit remaining:
Dark Match Main Event: * WWE Champion John Cena leaves and comes back out. R-Truth challenges him to a match. Cena says since they are in Las Vegas he's giving R-Truth a minute to beat him. Cena says if he can't beat him in the time frame he'll give R-Truth $100. Cena beat R-Truth in ten seconds after hitting the Attitude Adjustment. |
I will say that they did set up SummerSlam nicely with this show.
|
How so? No way Cena loses now, and then there is no real reason for HHH to challenge Punk.
|

Logically, Cena shouldn't even care if Punk is "fired" since now Nexus is leaderless and no longer any potential threat to him while his new threat is Del Rio. at how random that Ryder moment sounds. |

This is a HOT angle now. Do you really think it's just going to end dead in a few weeks? |
If it involves just these 2 players, then yes. If the MitB winner or someone else gets involved before MitB ends, then its a whole new game.
|
Would they really do the Cena's "fired" angle again, though, so soon? And to make it effective you need Cena out for longer than a month, even if he was just "fired" and fucking around like he did with Nexux. If SummerSlam wasn't the next PPV after MITB I'd buy it, but I just can't see it now. They can't have Cena off their second biggest PPV.
If there were more time, I could see Punk winning, taking the belt hostage for a few months with vignettes about his life with the belt (taking it to ROH and Japan even) and finally have Vince realize he needs Cena to save his belt. The Cena's Fired clause really solidifies Punk's loss for me. |
I'm just thinking, with their being the rumor about HHH retiring, and one of the people rumored to be his last match being Punk, the whole set up strikes me as too good to just "end."
It doesn't make sense. Any writer in the WWE has got to see the potential in this, especially since Punk's contract really doesn't end on Sunday night. On a total side note, there's a rumor going around that the King of Wrestling have been offered WWE contracts... |
doesn't Cena have a bunch of lingering injuries he has to deal with? thought I read that somewhere
|
I've read more than once now that John Cena is wrestling injured. Might not mean much but it makes the thought of Cena losing at lesst possible.
|
glad I didn't just make that up then
|
The way the worded it, "If Punk walks out of Chicago with the title, Cena is fired" is pretty much code for "Whoever wins MITB is going to cash in and keep the title".
They didnt say "if you lose you're fired." You know the E is very particular with their wording. |
what if we're getting an 'Attitude Era' Screw job? Like what if Punk struck a nerve with the good ole NO CHANCE IN HELL VINCE? WHAT IF Vinny Mac wants the strap on Punk now because he realizes he's what the company needs? Only for HHH to come in and save the day, bring the boss back to his senses and still lose at summerslam?
|
Yeah, I also read in a report that it wasn't "if Cena loses," but "if Punk leaves as WWE Champion." Therefore, it does pretty much keep alive hope that Punk will win, but then get Kofi Kingston'd or Alberto Del Rio'd or something. Probably Del Rio'd.
But imagine if CM Punk did leave Chicago the WWE Champion. Imagine if he did have someone cash in against him, but got himself disqualified, so they won, but Punk kept the title? Imagine if Punk revealed that this was all a plan to just get John Cena out of the WWE. |
random thoughts :
1. this cena being fired thing just kills what CM punk accomplished with the worked-shoot. 2. whats the over/under on Russo getting all excited and booking TNA workshoots for the next 6 months? 3. Why not have CM punk win and walk out with the title. Let the WWE have one title for a few months. Punk returns at suvivor series and Vince screws him there. |
Or, what if Punk has actually re-signed already and they're working us?
|
IT'S STING
|
<font color=goldenrod>If they do have the Raw MITB winner cash in on Punk right away to keep the belt in WWE/save Cena - it's gotta be Rey I'd imagine. Having a heel do it wouldn't have the same effect, and I can't see them having Kofi Kingston as WWE Champion leading into Summerslam.</font>
|
Yeah, Rey Mysterio would make the most sense. He also has history with Punk, and given that the WWE would like using one MITB to create a new star (Wade Barrett on SmackDown!), they'd probably like the other to further establish a guy that's already been to the top. Could definitely see it being Rey, even though I think Chicago will boo his cash-in out of the building.
It really depends on what the idea behind this angle is. I hope someone sensed the fire of the crowd and how they were hot for anything CM Punk was saying. It was like something out of the Attitude era, and that is in the past, but edgier programming doesn't need to be. Honestly, in my dream world: CM Punk would win the WWE Title at Money in the Bank after a match where it seems like both have the match nearly won. Cena gets Punk up for the Attitude Adjustment, but CM Punk counters and nails a GTS on Cena for the pin! In my perfect world, Punk would counter a Super Attitude Adjustment into a Pepsi Plunge, but that might be dreaming. Vince McMahon comes out, and says that he's not going to fire Cena yet, because there is still hope. He introduces us to Kofi Kingston, who won the RAW Money in the Bank, and is cashing in right now. Punk looks worried. Kofi Kingston comes out, and when he gets in the ring and the bell rings, Michael McGillicutty & David Otunga rush to the ring and attack Kofi, causing the disqualification. CM Punk escapes with Otunga & McGillicutty through the crowd. Vince gets in the ring and is massively pissed off. He fires Cena there and then on the spot, so Cena scoops him up and nails him with an Attitude Adjustment. This allows Cena to take some time off and rest his neck and such. On RAW, Kofi Kingston is really pissed off at himself, and apologies to the WWE Universe, but says that he beat CM Punk, so in any other world he'd be owed another title match, and all that. Dolph Ziggler comes out and says that he wants to thank CM Punk, because without him on RAW, he's the top champion on RAW. But it was always that way. Kofi says he can beat Dolph now, and in an impromptu match, Kofi does just that, beating Ziggler with Trouble in Paradise. Kofi says that he wants CM Punk back in the WWE, and he's going to insult his manhood each week until he gets back. Cue "This Fire Burns," but out walk Michael McGillicutty & David Otunga. They say that they know Kofi wants to get his hands on Punk, but it's not going to happen because he's gone. They have a message from CM Punk, though. He will appear on RAW next week via live satellite, just to rub his victory into the WWE Universe. Kofi starts to brawl with David Otunga and his former NXT rookie, but they have the strength in numbers, and Dolph Ziggler helps them out to beat-down Kofi. The RAW General Manager says that he will offer any amount of money within his limits to get CM Punk back for one match, and he wants CM Punk's answer the following week. Punk shows up on the titantron the following week, and cuts another awesome promo about how he legally has the right to do whatever he wants with the WWE Championship -- including destroy it. He pours Pepsi over it and tosses it into a fire, or something. Punk says that he'll forever be known as the last WWE Champion. Cue Triple H's music, who comes out as Punk is talking over the top "What the hell is this? Keep your big nose out of this," etc. Triple H cuts a promo in the ring about how much the WWE means to him, and it's not just personal these days, but it's business. Triple H lays down some insults at Punk, and perhaps returns a worked shoot-style promo on him. Triple H says that he and Punk never really had much of a match, and he'll offer CM Punk a ton of money if he signs the contract to face him at SummerSlam. Punk says "Hmm, let me think about it. No." Hunter throws in an extra bargaining chip, though. "If you beat me, I'll give you my stock in the WWE. I'll give you my position. Hell, you'll pretty much be guaranteed Chairman." Punk thinks about this, and Triple H says something like "If you really believe you're the best wrestler in the world and deserve to call yourself the last WWE Champion, you'd do it!" Punk accepts. As long as no active member of the WWE roster interferes. Triple H agrees, as long as that means Nexus, as well. Punk agrees and the match is on. Anyway, at SummerSlam, Punk makes his first actual appearance for the first time live since he left the WWE. Triple H has had a new belt made up, to be presented to him when he wins the WWE Title. Vince McMahon says that the match is going to be one that favours his son-in-law -- No Holds Barred! But people are still banned from ringside. Vince says he's going to stand out here and fire anyone that personally gets in his way. He takes a seat at ringside, and eventually, just as it looks like Triple H is about to win, Vince takes the sledgehammer out of his hands. CM Punk then low blows Hunter, and Vince nails him with the sledgehammer. Punk then gets his hands on the sledgehammer and goes to town on Triple H, as Vince is jumping around hysterically. John Cena makes his way through the crowd and goes right after Vince, as the commentators remind us that "active members of the roster are banned from ringside." Vince's security force tackles Cena, though, and a GTS from Punk finishes things and he's still the WWE Champion. Basically, the angle plays out that Punk and Vince are each other's buddies, and the plan has always been for Punk to be the Straight-Edge Savior of the WWE, due to his clean lifestyle. Vince can even name-drop drug users that have embarrassed him in the past. Punk says that he had it planned all along. He's the only man truly cunning enough to deserve the moniker "The Cerebral Assassin." He now has stock in the WWE, and he and Vince are going to make it the biggest promotion it can be, WITHOUT Triple H and John Cena there to ruin it. Punk then feuds with Kofi Kingston, and eventually, John Cena finds his way back into the WWE. Perhaps Punk could even find a way to double-cross Vince, which has Vince re-instating his old Superman. I dunno. I just want Punk to stay around. :( |
I was hoping to read a nice Noid post when I woke up
|
Here's my issue with Rey winning though, MitB is in Chicago who are ravenous fans of CM Punk. I doubt even Rey will be able to get the crowd behind him. It has to be Cena or a surprise HHH who earlier in the night replaced one of the MitB contestants.

My problem is the fact that they wouldn't want Cena off SummerSlam. They need him on SummerSlam.
|
My dream scenario: Either Cena winning, or MITB winner beating Punk. Then around Survivor Series, Vince brings Punk back as his new chosen one, basing everything off of Vince loving guys who stand up for themselves. This leads to Austin coming back, setting up Punk vs. Austin at Mania.

If only :'(
