What happened to Drew McIntyre?

He is now a regular on Superstars and he got superkicked by HBK in a backstage segment on RAW. He even jobbed to Chris Masters and Zack Ryder.

A friend of mine told me that the poor thing got divorced from a former WWE diva recently. Is he being punished? Is he in the dog house?

Feel free to share your opinions below

The Naitch 07-08-2011 01:37 AM

Didn't he just marry Kelly Kelly?

GD 07-08-2011 01:42 AM

When did that happen?

Lock Jaw 07-08-2011 01:45 AM

What happened to Drew is he moved to RAW.

Apparently he was moved to Superstars and he tends to make a few rare appearances on RAW.

Londoner 07-08-2011 04:23 AM

Yeah, surprise surprise someone else WWE seems to have just given up on.

Shadrick 07-08-2011 04:25 AM

There were reports that he ruined his own push by becoming very high-maintenance and diva-ish backstage.

Tazz Dan 07-08-2011 05:05 AM

He's where he should be? Apart from his music, he's kinda dull.

Rammsteinmad 07-08-2011 05:56 AM

He was growing on me. I didn't like him initially, and I still kinda think he needs a new look, but in the ring he was definitely starting to improve and increase his repertoire.

Londoner 07-08-2011 06:47 AM

Don't think i've been bored by a Drew Mcintyre match. Why some find him dull i don't know.

Testicle 07-08-2011 06:55 AM

They realized he sucks.

I just don't find him that good in the ring. But then I tend to flick through his matches, more because I find his character boring, so maybe that hasn't helped.

On a side note, I also think Zack Ryder is average in the ring. But better than Drew.

JordanStorm 07-08-2011 07:32 AM

I thought McIntyre had potential but as usual, the WWE creative team can't see talent when it's straight in front of them. It's the same with John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, Chris Master and Zach Ryder. All have enormous talent but are being underused. I think Morrison may be the exception when he returns

Well, McIntrye had a really good run on SmackDown. I think his move to Raw didn't help him out, as we can all see.

John Morrison is injured at the moment so I wouldn't say he's being underused. Before his injury, he seemed to be getting quite a push. He was receiving a lot of promo time, which, personally, I think he needed as he isn't really the greatest on the mic. Practice makes perfect and all that.

And within about the last year, he's had a lot of really good matches, he's had WWE Title matches, made it to the finals of the King of The Ring, had a match at WrestleMania. It wasn't the greatest match ever, but a match a WrestleMania is a match at WrestleMania. And just before his injury, he was starting an interesting feud with R-Truth, so I wouldn't say he's underused. I'd say he's somewhere between Mid-Card and Main Event. "Upper-Mid-Card".

As for Kingston, he's over. He has shown how good he can be and he's just lost the US Title and he's in the Money In The Bank Match, so him winning it, is possible. Chris Masters got a small push a while back, but I think that was only because he made his pecs dance. :-\

Zack Ryder has just started to get TV time. He's not making cameos backstage with Cena or anything like that, but actually TV time on Raw with what looked like a challenge issued to the Tag Team Champions. So maybe it's a bit early to say that Ryder is underused, as it looks likes he might just be starting to go somewhere.

I am a fan of Drew McIntyre and I don't like how he has been tossed aside in favor or Alberto Del Rio, Miz, Alex Riley, and R-Truth. I know everybody like them, but those are probably my four least favorites in recent memory. I never liked Miz and Riley may get better with time. Del Rio, while decent in the ring, just doesn't scream top guy to me. I know Drew doesn't either, I just like him more. Of course this is all my opinion and I know you guys all like those four I listed, but I think Miz is the worst WWE champion of all time. He's probably the one I dislike the most of those four. R-Truth's push is probably finishing for now, but I didn't like that he was getting a title push initially. His heel turn was a great segment, but since then I can't take him seriously as a heel. He's too goofy. It reminds me of when Santino was a heel to be honest. I liked Santino moreso then though because of the Glamarella storyline, but he didn't scream major heel to me either due to his character.

LuigiD 07-08-2011 11:02 AM

Noticed he has been making quite a few appearances at FCW shows. Perhaps the people backstage changed their mind about his wrestling ability.

No, I read on this site that Kelly Kelly and Justin Gabriel were an item.

Xero 07-08-2011 11:15 AM

Well Kelly Kelly fucks so many people you'd never know who she's with this hour.

Next Big Thing 07-08-2011 01:25 PM

He was married to Tiffany. She kicked his ass right before a PPV and ended up getting released eventually. Dude doesn't do it for me anyways. He's stale on the mic and kind of unremarkable ring wise.

James Steele 07-08-2011 01:30 PM

He is just Cocky Heel #962681

Ultra Mantis 07-08-2011 01:33 PM

He was incredibly bland. They almost made him a bit interesting with the Kelly Kelly angle, but the only time I really didn't mind watching him was when he started jobbing to random moves from guys lower on the card and threw fits about it to get his losses expunged.

corywards 07-08-2011 01:58 PM

no gimmick. bad music. bad accent. sucks.com

Cool King 07-08-2011 03:11 PM

Bad accent?

It's not like he's faking that accent. You can't really hold someones accent as a reason why they apparently suck.

Lock Jaw 07-08-2011 03:12 PM

Sure you can. If they sound funny to Americans, then they can't possibly ever get over.

Cool King 07-08-2011 03:12 PM

It's a bit Xenophobic to me. :-\

"You suck because I don't like your accent".

Lock Jaw 07-08-2011 03:15 PM

The biggest reason they decided to depush Wade Barrett was because he talked funny. :shifty:

kareru 07-08-2011 03:38 PM

i thought they were going to give him a huge push around elimination chamber time, he was like a violent destruction machine and i thought that was the plan

boy likes girl
girl thinks boy is too violent
girl goes for someone else
boy becomes even more violent

Amen to that. People sit on their hands when he comes out...he's too shitty for them to be bothered to boo him.

Flavour of the month passed by for him, basically.

XCaliber 07-08-2011 06:31 PM

Wasn't sold on this guy when he initially debuted but in some ways I think he could be just as good as monster heel as a Barrett or Sheamus he just needs to be given the opportunity.

Reading this thread made me realize that WWE does tend to make most non-north americans heels. Barrett, Sheamus, McIntyre, Gabriel to name a few.

Damn, no wonder the rest of the world hates me.

kareru 07-08-2011 08:48 PM

Sheamus + Mcintyre + Barrett = awesome stable

so,an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman enter a WWE ring......

Mr. Nerfect 07-08-2011 10:44 PM

Drew McIntyre is a good worker, but he can get a lot better, too. In some ways, being on Superstars will help him, because he gets to work longer matches as opposed to three or four minute ones. Personally, I love the guy, but not everyone can be pushed at once.

I'd like to see him face CM Punk on RAW, actually. There's one more before Money in the Bank, right? It'd make sense that Vince sends his Chosen One to do soften Punk up for John Cena. McIntyre loses the match, but when Cena retains (or Punk wins and then is defeated by the guy cashing in), McIntyre can take credit for it, and then face the WWE Champion on RAW. He wouldn't win (again), but it'd be a chance for him to have a good main event-level showing.

Alternatively, McIntyre could offer to soften up Punk, but Vince can choose someone else, and tell McIntyre that he hasn't lived up to expectations "lighting a fire" under Drew.

The Naitch 07-08-2011 10:54 PM

I kinda liked Drew McIntyre as a face on Smackdown trying to get in Kelly Kelly's pants

I would like to see his character be this douche that would act all nice in front of the ladies but be a total scumbag behind their backs, bragging to his buddies and shit

He'd be the WWE's version of TPWW poster jindrak. He could even have his own PICK UP ARTIST STABLE !!! That would be some real RASSLE ART !!!!!!!!!!!!

Gold

SlickyTrickyDamon 07-08-2011 11:06 PM

I remember hearing reports that he lost some respect with the boys because he was pussy-whipped. Along with that he was given the name Avatar because of how controlling his soon to be ex-wife was.

Mr. Nerfect 07-08-2011 11:07 PM

They should have Drew McIntyre get a head injury and them come out painted blue, claiming to be a Navi.
