Is this the Iconic Sign in Wrestling History?

If not, then what is?

Xero 07-18-2011 01:59 PM

On my phone so can't easily look it up but the giant Hogan sign. It can be seen at Mania 6 and 18.

loopydate 07-18-2011 02:06 PM

I still like the night that one entire section held up the entirety of the New Age Outlaws' pre-match schtick on one giant poster.

loopydate 07-18-2011 02:09 PM

Maybe not "iconic," but for me that sign was a (no pun intended) sign of the times. A midcard tag team inspired fans enough to blanket their entire section in their catchphrases. That's how incredible that era was.

CSL 07-18-2011 02:11 PM

The Outlaws were more than midcard tag team at that point, they were red hot/one of the most over acts in wrestling. And the Hogan sign that Xero mentioned. First wrestling sign I ever remember seeing.

I quite liked the little 'Tombstones' people had of all of the Undertaker's Wrestlemania opponents.

I was thinking something that showed the difference between WCW and the WWF and confirmed the shift in power between the two would have been that "I'd Rather Be At Raw" sign that was shown behind the announcers, I think.

McLegend 07-18-2011 02:15 PM

What about the "Who booked this crap" sign?

Or was that not an actual sign?

McLegend 07-18-2011 02:16 PM

And wasn't the Cena sign created by an old TPWW poster who use to write for the site?

LK 07-18-2011 02:18 PM

Don't know but you just reminded me of Dave Youell's worthy contender from Wrestlemania 19.

Shisen Kopf 07-18-2011 10:32 PM

""Goldberg 98 jobbers 3 real wrestlers"

Thought that sign Sunday @ MitB was a pretty brilliant stroke of genius by whoever made it.

First thing that popped in my mind. Also, the giant Hogan signs from erstwhile.

Fox 07-19-2011 09:47 PM

During the monday night wars, around 9PM on Nitro, I would always see SOMEONE holding up this sign: "9 O'CLOCK: TIME FOR RAW"

Was the Road dog the only member of DX besides HHH to have his own shirt while in DX?

Lock Jaw 07-19-2011 10:29 PM

Damn that vid with the entire crowd shouting the catchphrase with them. Forgot how great reactions could be back in the day.

I believe X-Pac had one... but the "6 ball" shirt from WCW was cooler, so no one remembers it.
