Best Homecoming Crowd Pops or Return Pops
 

The reaction Punk got in Chicago makes me wonder what wrestlers got the best reactions from their hometown crowds during a show or pay per view or from a crowd after returning from an injury or hiatus. CM Punk's, the Hart Foundation and HHH's return to MSG are my 3 faves.

Bret's 'return' when Shawn Michaels tricked the crowd back in 2005 got a huge pop.

Punk's is #1, as you have to factor in the mega-hate for Cena as well...... The Harts return to Calgary comes a close second.....

god i could watch that cm punk cena match in its entirety over and over again. soooo much more respect for both of them after that night. and that crowd pop the whole time for punk is sooo chilling..i get goosebumps

That Punk entrance may very well be the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Dude's definatly going down as a staple of this generation of wrestling no if ands or buts about it. If WWE doesn't get CM Punk back they are complete fools. After hearing a reaction like that I'd give the guy anything he wanted to sign him to another contract.

Maybe the plan was for Cena to win, but then after hearing that pop, and the boos for Cena, they were like "Uhhhhh... we better not risk it". :shifty:

RVD's pop wasn't that impressive, really. Cena's heat was impressive, though, at ONS.

I don't think I've ever seen a more crazy crowd for a return then when Eddie Guerrero started a Smackdown show in El Paso when he was the US Champion. He came in through the crowd and it was insane. Never been able to find a video though.

I don't have it, but when Bulldog beat Hitman in Wembley Stadium was huge.

Everyone knew the Punk entrance at MITB was going to be huge, but the pop he got the night he beat Regal for the IC title was a bit more than anyone expected at the time. He didn't even need the cheap pop from carrying the municipal flag. After he won, you'd have thought he just won the World Title.

I seem to remember the pop when Shawn Michaels teased Bret Hart's return being pretty insane. Same when Edge and Lita teased Matt Hardy's.

I thought JRs return pop was pretty big, partly because I don't think many people saw it comming
