Gail Kim trying to get fired? Or work?
From PWInsider:
On Gail Kim's twitter @gailkimITSME the last couple days she's been responding to people questioning what happened in the Divas battle royal where she just dropped to the mat and rolled out of the ring immediately out of nowhere. And she admits to doing just that on purpose saying she was "just checking 2 see if any1 was paying attention". Asked if anyone did she said, "haha no, no one did. Sad right? Verrrrry amusing". When someone called her "unprofessional" and "her own biggest mark" her response was "oh and also on the contrary, I wasn't being a mark 4 myself I was being a good employee when ur told to get out of the ring in less than a min.I just did it the fastest way possible:)so really I saved some time!" When someone commented that the women's division in WWE sucks but to stick around a little longer she responded "do u think it will change?" When the same person said it was a shame WWE doesn't respect true women wrestlers with talent her response was "Yes it is a shame I agree. I know it's a man's world but the women are just as important!" She also tweeted "Nooooo I'm not doing my best to get fired." |
I honestly think she has some hard feelings against WWE. It may not be a huge thing, but she's made comments in the past few months questioning WWE's booking of the Divas
|
At the very least, it wouldn't surprise me if she was just trying to ruffle some feathers
|
She'd paid enough money to not pull unprofessional stuff like that. It's only marginally better than a no-show in my opinion.
I didn't notice and i had thought Gail and Melina had eliminated each other cause they have been feuding on Superstars and Twitter. |
I really don't think it's that big of a deal. People constantly refer to Divas matches as piss breaks, so to now be offended by this is a bit hypocritical.
She just proved that no one pays attention to Divas bouts |
Who gives a fuck?
|
I would piss on Gail Kim!
|
She should join Punk's stable.
|
Turn her heel /iwc
|
I never noticed she was in the match to be honest.
|
I make it a point to point out whenever she's in one of these clusterfuck battle royals or 15 on 15 Divas matches where she never even tags in. It's like a guilty pleasure.
I see her situation. On one hand, she is actually a tremendous female talent AND 100% easy on the eyes... something that isn't as common as we're led to believe by the bigger wrestling feds. She's being underused. On the other hand, it's like WWE is paying her money just so Impact Wrestling doesn't have her. Almost like the re-aquisition of Christian, where they weren't really booking him seriously as opposed to him being a big deal in TNA. Same with Gail. Her feud with Mommy Kong is fairly legendary and help put the Knockouts division on the map in terms of legitimacy, and NOW she gets more money to become an afterthought. |
Wasn't that why she jumped back, TNA paid her a pittance? She must have known what to expect, the womens division isn't worth shit in the WWE after all, as much as she's being underused at least she's well paid for it.

I'll admit that I didn't notice Gail Kim rolling out of the ring. I noticed her before the bell rang, but after that, my attention went to Beth Phoenix. :-\ |
This is true, but I don't think she figured she'd be treated THAT poorly on her return.
|
For the amount of money they get paid I'd be like "Work for 1 minute? Hell yeah."
If I'm in the business, I already know that its not real, so it wouldn't bother me. |
she should give it a bit longer, i mean they have only just forgiven Christian.
i don't think it is a work, she has a legitimate gripe on behalf of the female wrestlers, i mean she campaigned for ages to get a womens division in TNA. also whatever happened to her and Daniel Bryan, did they just drop that storyline? |

I like Gail as a performer, but she had to have known what she was getting into when she re-signed. It's not like they gave her a huge push her first go around when there was actually quality women's competition so what could she expect coming in the second go round when they were pushing glorified maxim models?
The WWE signing her was literally an attempt snuff TNA's women's division in my opinion. |

She should just be glad she's not playing an Asian stereotype like pretty much every other Asian wrestler they've ever had.
|
Well the first elimination was Melina getting down to tie her shoe which might not have shoe laces and then Beth pushes her out of the ring. Since both of them were scheduled to get the fuck out of there at the beginning then I say rolling out of the ring by yourself is a better way then getting pushed out while tying your shoe.
|
Alicia Fox is like "wuh..what happened?". And I don't know why they are trying to make Alicia look like Rihanna or maybe she chose that herself.
|
I heard that she was eliminated, but I never saw her in ring. Not like it matters.
|
Honestly I don't blame her WWE's treatment of the women's division is horrible I mean Kelly Kelly as champion? Really WWE? If Kelly with her 0 charisma and -10 ring ability can win the Diva's title then by that logic John Morrison with his excellent ring work and midiocre mic skills should be a multi-time WWE champion by now.
|
Kelly Kelly is hot, and hot = ratings. Bull Nakano is a hell of a wrestler, but she doesn't put butts in seats and money in Vince's pockets.
|
Gail Kim is also hot and talented, but WWE could care less about women's wrestling from a match-quality standpoint. They never have and never will, and Gail Kim needs to grow the fuck up.
|
If WWE stopped shoving barbie dolls down the fans throats and started putting on good women's matches then it would equal cash for vince. Look at the fan's perspective on diva's matches even casual fans consider them piss breaks so there for hot does not in fact = ratings.
|
Piss breaks are necessary, though. Divas matches are basically an intermission without going completely dark.

Looks like Melina did it first, possibly was her idea and Gail went along with it. Nobody will be punished for it, even on the long shot that anyone in a position of power closely watches diva matches / reads Gail Kim's twitter.

And honestly if Vince just wants to save money why not do away with the divas all together instead of holding back great talents and putting on horrible clusterfuck matches?

I don't see Gail Kim being hot or having talent. Cherry-picking your porn stars may have something to do with that though. As far as the talent, I admit, I think maybe I've seen a match or two of hers at the absolute most after years of watching wrestling off and on.
That being said, at least she has some balls. But honestly the WWE has like 90 different divas and only a few of them are over. They don't get a lot of time, but neither do a lot of the guys on the roster. The WWE seems to try to highlight the women one or two at a time, and it isn't her turn right now. So she can cry about it. Also remember, women used to get decent time in wrestling programs, when they could actually wrestle. But they were ugly as fuck. It's a different era now. Looks > ability. There have only been a few divas to roll through the WWE with both. She should be lucky that Kharma's out for a while. She's actually over. Trish Stratus had looks, and she learned to wrestle, it was amazing and she was over instantly. She used her tits to do it, but she could actually go. It'll be years before someone like her comes along again. Gail Kim happens to have zero chest. I try not to judge women by the size of their knockers but honestly she's lucky to even be there, unless she has some way to make people give a shit. Kelly Kelly happens to have a shapely chest. What wrestling and mic ability is to the guys, boobs are to the divas. That's just the way it is, whether we agree or not. Maybe she thinks she is going to tweet her way to it. Who knows. |

And I don't see Trish as ever being a money maker either. Her leaving "at her peak" combined with her being pretty good as far as WWE women's standards go has left this very fond impression of her. When really she was "pretty standard" as far as divas go, nothing groundbreaking, just hot and quite dependable/durable. Nobody bought a ticket or ordered a PPV to see a Trish Stratus match. She's probably more valuable to them now if anything but even that's not much past a 'hey, it's Trish, she's still hot '. |
Yawn, it's women's wrestling.
