TNA in the red?

So am I the only one who found the fact that Jimmy Yang even wrestled for TNA bigger news than this?
|
HOLY SHIT
The sky is blue. |

Did Jimmy Wang go back to being a FLYING ELVIS?!
Because if he didn't, TNA totally dropped the ball! |
Was joking, but after looking it up, apparently he did do the Flying Elvis gimmick.
|
lol TNA.
|
Yeah, he was definitely Elvis in one of those qualifiers for Destination X. I have met Yang like 4 times, and he seems like a reasonable guy.
|
I really like Jimmy Yang. Personally, I think any top promotion would be lucky to have the guy. The dude is only 30 years old. He's proven over the years that he can handle ridiculous gimmicks, but I'm just begging for a company to get a hold of him, and present him as a man who finally wants to be taken seriously -- for his talent alone.
Yang should have been paid; I can't imagine TNA being in the red. If they are, though, then they really need to cut a lot of their older talent. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff can go bye-bye, too. It's been almost two years, and they've really done nothing for TNA. |
Its like Paul Heyman is running things even though he isn't.
Destination X only got like 7,000 buys. Who knows how many Hardcore Justice got. The Impact Taping in Alabama in 2 weeks has only sold about 500 tickets so far. Things are not really going so well. Wouldnt surprise me. |
He should ask to be paid in stock. :D
|
Stock in what?
|
I really can't say I'm surprised by this tbh.

I thought TNA was always in the red unless they mean Panda Energy is also in red or they managed to "waste" all of this year's funding from Panda.
TNA would be smart to start offloading all the deadweight expensive contracts but knowing them, either nothing gets done or similar to WCW, they get rid of a bunch of cheaper talent but still have the expensive talent sucking up all the finances. |

WE'VE GOT TNA BEEF, CHICKEN and PORK STOCK! I TELL YOU..SAMOA JOE LOVES THE STUFF!! HULK HOGAN DRINKS 10 GALLONS OF IT DAILY! JEFF JARRETT PERSONALLY KILLED EACH ANIMAL WITH HIS GUITAR! ACT NOW AND WE THROW IN 10..TEN!! OMG TEN!! DVDS! ITS A $500 VALUE...$20!!! |

It is probably just a simple mistake.
|
what was the line from "Saving Silverman"?
Oh yeah... DUURRR!!!! |
TNA is where people go to play 'wrestling business' or where people go to milk money from investors who do not know the wrestling business or it is just plain and simply WCW 2.0 w/ out the charm.
What more can you say? You have many of the same people who helped bring WCW into the ground running TNA. TNA had its own identity before these people came on board but now what can you call it other than a WWE want-to-be. Maybe TNA is just a scam by the people running the show, a scam that allows them to make money and blow their ego. |
They've been bouncing checks for a while now to be honest....or telling people hey, we'll give you check but don't cash it until we say it's ok so it doesn't bounce.
A lot of the guys have asked for theirs in cash. |

It doesn't suprise me that their not making much/ if any money, or maybe they just don't wanna pay him. I don't think WCW was even in the black for very long, I read that going into 99, they were on the verge of gong bankrupt somehow they kept it together till 01.
|
I really think that TNA would be better served cutting a lot of their "big names." About the only Attitude era guys really delivering in TNA right now are Kurt Angle, Bully Ray and I guess maybe Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn.

Perhaps TNA IS in the red...and that's why we're seeing "Direct Auto Insurance" EVERYWHERE...from commercials, to the ring apron, to the turnbuckles...maybe that company is putting in some real money into TNA, and in turn, TNA gives them exposure.

Direct Auto Insurance is probably funding them for exposure now. I was thinking that when I watched Impact. It's actually quite sad.
|
I think it would be a bad thing if TNA went out of business right now. I think there starting to go back in the right direction. They are putting some new, younger guys in the main event picture (Gunner and Crimson) putting some more time and wrestlers in the X Division, plus competition can only make both companies better.

If TNA does die, which it should because it's been like a half aborted fetus since it's birth anyway... it won't really hurt wrestling, it would just mean in another year or two somebody else will try to start a big company and get on TV, which would be fucking great.
I feel like TNA will hurt your career as a wrestler more than help it, just being on TV is nice for a guy but being on reality TV isn't good for anyone and that's basically what TNA is. |
TNA is a zombie aborted fetus. Really hard to kill, kinda hard to watch, and definitely not suitable for TV. Unfortunately, I think the failure of TNA would hurt any future company's TV chances. So I'm not sure how "great" it would be.
Though the product would almost certainly be better than TNA. |
You know, didn't some billion dollar energy company pretty much give Dixie Carter some nice financial padding?
AKA, why the fuck should they worry about checks bouncing! |

I don't know if I laughed at Kane Knight's quote or the fact mhirn3 responded to Kane Knight's comment 60 days after it was posted. Either way it was pretty funny.
|
I sure hope jimmy wang has been paid by now
|
He said he was paid a couple weeks after all that initial stuff, yeah.
