First tag teams, then managers, now Cruiserweights
Triple H is on a roll

I'll believe it when I see it. I still don't have confidence on the claim of a tag division coming in.
Don't get me wrong, I do hope it'll happen, but I've not been shown that things like this can truly happen in a good way on a permanent basis. Personally, my expectations would be a few months of decent action, after which they'd be quarantined to Superstars or less. |
Bourne has been booked to oblivion...just saying...and their first Cruiserweight Champion will be the one that held the belt last: Hornswoggle
This concludes this trolling moment. |
yeah itll take time but like others said i dont see a 1998 tag team revival on the horizon
|
I think Trips need to worry about the already established Tag Division before adding another belt that will be buried on Superstars/NXT and hardly ever seen on PPV, Raw or Smackdown.....
|
Honestly, I'd prefer him to get them to get the current product down a bit more sound before branching off into bringing other things in. In the end it's the same result, but I think instead of doing all this at once it should be done one thing at a time. It's going to be a bit of a mish-mash at first.
The product is currently pretty great, but they have a bit to go before I'd consider it stable. |
should go 1 step further and bring in midgets
midgets = ratings |

But I do hope the Cruiserweight Division does return. Maybe even the Cruiserweight Championship, but it would only make sense if it was dual branded, like the Divas Championship. Hopefully the Cruiserweights are on the main shows and PPV's and not just Superstars like they were back in the day when they only ever really appeared on Velocity. |

I hate going back to the 1996-2001 era, but wrestling succeded because it showcased all of the divisions. It makes a variety of wrestlers seem more important to the audience. I mean you had a guy like Crash Holly be one of the most popular guys in the industry for months in the Hardcore division. D-Lo got super over once he became a staple in the European division.
I've always been a huge advocate of all these belts because it really does get people over. Don't get me wrong, WWE is beyond awesome right now, but there's a shit load of guys they can get over by seperating them into multiple divisions. |

They wont fix the tag ranks.
THey slap two gusy together, but dont give them a tag team name, or a tag finisher, or matching gear and think it works. They act like you cant change someone when you put them in a team. Look at Beer Money. Both were middling singles wrestlers. So what do they do? Come up with a tag gimmick and name. Change their attire, really sell the team aspect rather than being two singles guys together. Now they are arguably the best tag team in the world. |
Well, the Kings of Wrestling are coming in soon so having the straps on someone high profile like Kofi and a high flyer like Bourne could help give them quicker exposure and look good in the ring in a feud. Plus, they gave the Young Bucks a try out and I read they're looking at Beer Money and the Briscoes as potential future signings.
I do agree that WWE would be better served creating pure tag teams with matching gimmicks instead of mashing random singles competitors together. |
It's not like tag teams or managers have actually made a comeback so i wouldn't get too excited...
|
Looking forward for it.....
|
I think that's why they showed Bourne and Kingston backstage after winning, celebrating and all that...I saw it as the WWE saying "We're bringing Tag Team wrestling BACK".
|
plus sign Chuck Taylor.
|
If they can somehow make Raw a three hour show every week, I'd be for this.

I think that WWE have tried so hard to get 'little guys' like Punk, Rey, Danielson, etc over as contenders that pigeonholing (?) them into a cruiser division would be kind of a backward step for them tbh.
|
What if instead of a cruiserweight division based around a weight class, they make a division WHERE IT IS ABOUT NO LIMITS?
|
Jericho, Eddie and many others started in the Cruiser division showing they can get over and eventualy both got the WCW United States title(and then went to WWF and became main eventers)
So I woudln't buy into it making the little guys take a step back, they can still compete in both but the cruiser division would be a faster past style and they can say it doesn't use traditional olympic wrestling as much and thats a quality needed for the heavyweight division. |
One of the best things about WCW was their Cruiserweight division even during the times their main event division was horrible.
Only concern I have is when the WWE eventually looses interest in the division and goes back to either ignoring them or just having them as a pool of wrestlers for squash matches. At least if everything goes to plan, PPVs should become a bit better in diversity instead of the current focus of either on main event quality wrestlers or just title matches. |

HARDCORE DIVISION? |

The WWE can actually make a decent Cruiserweight division and make them look cool like the X-Division.
Here is a list of guys that I believe can make up the new Cruiserweight divison Cody Rhodes Daniel Bryan Evan Bourne John Morrison* Justin Gabriel* Kofi Kingston Primo Rey Mysterio Sin Cara Trent Barreta* Yoshi Tatsu |
