So Goldberg is Returning....

Bill Goldberg...I'm Finally Getting BACK IN THE RING!
For the first time in 7 years ... Bill Goldberg is FINALLY GONNA WRESTLE AGAIN -- and TMZ has learned it's all to raise money for charity.

Goldberg -- the most famous Jewish wrestler of all-time -- tells us he has agreed to wrestle in a match in Africa next month and 100% of the proceeds will benefit various charitable organizations.

The former WWE champ and master of the Jackhammer tells us he's fired up about his triumphant return ... and has already stepped up his workouts so he can be as ripped as possible.

Goldberg adds, "At this time, the only thing that would get me back in the ring is something that would positively impact those in need. If selling out another major event would allow me to bring a ship full of supplies to hand out to those in need, I'd say that would be very significant."

Good for him I guess.

Logan 08-27-2011 01:33 PM

I'm only slightly more interested in this than I was with Warriors last return/retirement match, and I was meh at best about that.

I'm only slightly more interested because goldberg at least is more interesting to watch, as compared to the sad match warrior had at NWE

Logan 08-27-2011 01:51 PM

Also have a Goldberg ish related ?... is it just me or does goldberg being in "recent" pictures with The Miz(zes) and other people from The E contradict his comment of "WWE can kiss my ass"?

Just because he doesn't like the company doesn't mean he doesn't like/talk with the talent.

Good point.

:| Well.... ok I guess..... not like it matters though.

captaincharismark 08-27-2011 05:12 PM

It's admirable that he doing it for charity, but does he honestly think mainstream wrestling fans will care if he doesn't return in WWE or TNA??? The fact that he doing some obscure charity wrestling show in Africa gives off the perception that he's a washed up has been.

I personally think it's a publicity stunt by Goldberg to get offers from WWE or TNA. Otherwise, why workout so much for one event? Smart move, but I'm not convinced it will work though....

DrA 08-27-2011 05:15 PM

I really hated Goldberg's second theme song. It sounds like a parody of the first one.

That's quite a random post. If Goldberg wanted offers from WWE or TNA, I'm pretty sure he'd just call/have someone call one of the many people he knows and is on very good terms with working/on good terms with both companies. Guys like Steve Austin and Eric Bischoff. He's not some random indy guy or small name.

captaincharismark 08-27-2011 05:20 PM

Random speculation is the whole premise of internet wrestling forums man. Where have you been for the past 15 years? Apparently, he was having difficulty negotiating with WWE, so it's not too farfetched to think he might be using this as a publicity stunt. As for TNA, he is friends with Hogan/Bischoff, but he's made it clear he isn't interested in TNA...

Supreme Olajuwon 08-27-2011 05:26 PM

You know, it is possible that he's doing this because he's a decent human being doing something nice to help the less fortunate. I know the internet is the most cynical place on earth, but there are still people that do nice things just to be nice.

Aguakate 08-27-2011 05:35 PM

It surprises me somewhat that Goldberg hasn't appeared at TNA...

...TNA will sign just about anybody, so it's kinda surprising that after all this time, they haven't been able to at least have Goldberg show up ONCE.

Fuck off with that shite.

Rammsteinmad 08-27-2011 06:55 PM

People don't do anything nice unless it's for money or pussy.

Mr. JL 08-27-2011 06:57 PM

I remember a video of him going around where he said he wanted his son/daughter/child to see him wrestle.

It IS possible for people to do nice things without expecting something in return, or with their own interests in mind...

...not Goldberg, though.

I hope you're being sarcastic because if you're not I truly pity you and everyone else who thinks like you.

ThePhantom 08-27-2011 09:58 PM

Seeing as how WWE got less than 200,000 buys were done for Money IN the Bank, the biggest built up ppv in the last couple of years, they should pay Goldberg and any other stars as much money as they want to help boost interest in the produce. CM Punk/Cena aren't getting the job done. Or so the numbers suggest.

GOLDBERG TO TNA?! LOCKER ROOM DRAMA WITH JEFF HARDY?! EXCLUSIVE JEREMY BORASH LINGERIE PIX!!!!!!

Xero 08-27-2011 10:04 PM

Hey, they've brought in Nash and are considering X Pac.

RATINGS RATINGS RATINGS!

ThePhantom 08-27-2011 10:08 PM

Ratings drive revenue. It is simple business, you can say you now this business all you want, but it is just that, a business. No ratings, no revenue, no business. This "reality' era stuff is about 10 years too late i'm afraid, sorry.

Xero 08-27-2011 10:19 PM

Wait, you're actually serious? You're actually going to say that being up 20% from the last year isn't good business?

Supreme Olajuwon 08-28-2011 01:12 AM

He's a troll/retard. Just pay him no mind and you'll be fine.

The buyrate numbers originally released had the 2011 MITB PPV bringing in 265,000 buys. However, a new breakdown in the estimates lists the July PPV at bringing in just 185,000 buys.

the first Money in the Bank pay-per-view, which did 165,000 worldwide buys.

Hardly what you can call a success..

Hardly call a success? Any increase is good, even if it was just 20,000 more than the previous year. The way I see it, MITB was great and I think with all of the attention it got after...it brought interest for Summerslam and therefore increasing the buyrate even more.

Since when is it the job of a wrestling organization to sell fruits and vegetables?

KayfabeMan 08-28-2011 01:07 PM

Diversification.

There is much more of a demand on fruits and vegetables than there is for WWE.

Too bad ppl can't literally hear the sarcasm in your voice when you post here. Otherwise, the art of being sarcastic might be lost forever:rofl:

It's always hilarious to see some jackass take things so seriously they have to "pity" you, yet can't even comprehend the context of your post...

MoFo 08-28-2011 04:50 PM

I dont think he knows what hes getting himself into...

The Congo? Eeeesh.

MoFo 08-28-2011 04:51 PM

Should be noted tht they are advertising Jericho, Batista, Matt Hardy, MVP, etc for this too.

May be fake?

Goldberg doesn't sell very often. But when he does, he sells you fruit.
