WCW not jumping the gun on the .com like the E
I wrote a big post talking about mistakes WCW made and one of them wcw the WCW.com... If you go to it now its prob more interesting then it ever was when it was run under time warner or AOL/time warner. but my PC over heated and lost my rant(one of those six page rants i do drunk)
anyway do you think WCW missed out big not jumping on the .com, they had a mark maden show and I think maybe worldwide on .com by 2000 but WWE had byte this and all this exclusive shit and were streaming PPPVs as far back as sumerslam highway to hell (99 i think)...halftime heat as well. do you think not wokring on the .com hurt wcw in th elong run, they could have used it as a grace period/limbo while not having a network to still do shows and promote PPV's with the wcw name and some skizzy promotor other then mcmahon (wrestlers could have financed it, hogan, bish ect) |
I wish I could have posted my original Shpeel, damn fiiber optic internet over heating my PC with 1mg per second per torrent download speed thats going to cost me a shitload in bandwith despite having 120gigs a month.,....its just so fast and since i lost MY WHOLE COLLECTIONN Im tempted to get everything back....
if some asshole robed my 140 something DVDs I get to download them back , fair is fair. |
It's difficult enough reading a short sentence by you, nevermind a long rant.

What?
|
I hope Shane McMahon does good things now that he owns WCW.
|
Maybe an invasion of sorts
|
Can't believe he bought WCW right under his father's nose!! OMGZ!
|
There's no way they can mess up a WCW vs WWF feud
|
The rumor mill states that ECW will be involved in the Invasion angle!!! TOTALLY MARKING OUT!

That reminds me, Kids.

I wanna say that WCW did more with the internet back in the late 90s than WWF did..I think that they put the PPV on the web well before WWF did anyway..
bout the only thing I remember from WWF.com days was BYTE THIS! Hard to believe Steph interned on the show as the phone screener. |
AOL/Time Warner really missed out on the whole internet craze.

AOL Keyword: WWF

That was my first exposure to "wrestling on the internet." I was in like 7th or 8th grade

You guys are forgetting that the WWF didn't need a sweet website when the WWF Magazine was fucking BALLER.
And of course you had Raw Magazine for the over 16 crowd as well. |
I didn't know WCW and WWF actually streamed ppvs going that far back although the idea of streaming something on dial-up even if it was just audio must have been more of a hassle than being good.
I know there was broadband type internet back then but that didn't become "mainstream" until years later (2003-2004). |
I mark for Perry Saturn.
|
I always thought the audio only streams were probably like the guys announcing sitting in a studio with a sound effect machine making it up as they went along..and I remember reading at one point they had the announcers in the back instead of at ringside calling the matches from in front of a tv and the tv cut out, and they ended up joking about it or something..

The internet is just a fad anyway.
|
I don't think WCW missed out on the .com website, I think they sailed that ship exactly how they sailed every ship in WCW, with the anchor still in the water, great start, then they just got stuck.

The Internet is a communications tool used the world over where people can come together to bitch about movies and share pornography with one another.
