Official Raw Thread For 9/12/11 - Nobody Wants To Make A Raw Thread

It's about two hours before Raw begins and there's no sign of a thread for it. :?:

Usually there is by now, but anyway....

There's a "Face-Off" tonight between Punk and Triple H.

JimmyMess 09-12-2011 06:58 PM

Which one is Travolta?

Lots of Pudsnatchers doing this tonight:

Was going to pack in watching Raw live because I was getting sick of the constant adverts, but I'm not tired at all yet so if I don't start getting tired soon I guess I'll be watching.

TheFallenOneX 09-12-2011 07:38 PM

IF anyone is watching MNF did you notice ESPN was using RVD's ECW Theme when introducing the starting line ups

TheChairman 09-12-2011 07:40 PM

This Raw is going to score very low in the ratings scale tonight. That is the only thing that is for sure. With two football games, back to back, and if the Dolphin/Pats game is close all the way through, you can kiss the 3.0 scale goodbye.

Oh and btw, CM Punk is ruined for me. Poor booking completely killed his momentum. It is a shame.

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 07:53 PM

Poor booking? Explain?

TheChairman 09-12-2011 07:55 PM

The thing with Nash was ridiculous, and they are blowing their load with HHH/Punk way to early.

I was with you about blowing the load this soon off the bat but the more I think about it, I changed my mind. I want to see where it goes. I think Nash will still be involved but it's best for Punk to keep the 5 star matches on PPVs coming. It builds him up even more. Imagine if Punk does go over. Wow. Interesting ways to go can come out of that easily.

Xerzes 09-12-2011 08:01 PM

He should go over, certainly. I still doubt he will. And I also doubt that if he goes over it will be by anything but stupid bullshit designed to make him look bad.

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:01 PM

Not really. CM Punk is still on FIRE. With the title or not. I was iffy of a Nash/Punk feud but it would of been interesting seeing them in match against each other. Anywho, the seeds have been planted. I find that everything they are doing is for GOOD reason. Watching HHH/Punk go down this early to me is great with NOC revealing all the questions and continuing on. Sit back and enjoy the ride. :D

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:04 PM

If HHH finishes Punk with a pedigree and waits to cover him after 30 seconds to make the pin, then you can declare that his momentum is ruined.

TheChairman 09-12-2011 08:06 PM

Punk better go over, if he doesn't, whatever momentum he had left is gone. I never liked Punk, he is the wrong guy for this gimmick. He isn't big enough to go up to Nash or HHH and say he s going to kick their teeth down their throats. The guy is about the same thickness of one of their quads.

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:08 PM

Who would of been better for this "gimmick"?

Corporate CockSnogger 09-12-2011 08:11 PM

Bloody hell.

TheChairman 09-12-2011 08:12 PM

Orton for one, I'm sure he could have spilled some "pipe bombs" on HHH. Honestly, anyone could have if they were told here take the mic and spill some dirt on the boss. Hell Cena being "this guy" would have been 10x as awesome.

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:13 PM

:wtf:

TheChairman 09-12-2011 08:15 PM

Honestly, what has punk said that Orton or Cena couldn't have said as well? Stephanie wears the pants, Hunter needs to ask for permission... ect ect.. Anyone could have grabbed a miicrophone and sad those things.

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:17 PM

Oh yeah...Cena would of been 10x more awesome...I can just hear him grab the microphone and call out Triple H with poopy jokes...

Corporate CockSnogger 09-12-2011 08:17 PM

This chairman guy's a bit spesh. Bless him.

He delivers his promo's like that because he is told to do it that way. If you think he couldn't rip it up on the microphone if given the go ahead, you got another thing coming.

Corporate CockSnogger 09-12-2011 08:20 PM

Honestly, nothing against Cena or Orton, but if you think either of them could have played the role Punk did then you should probably just stop watching wrestling. Or at least stop trying to discuss it.

What makes you say that?

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:22 PM

It works for CM Punk. End of Story.

I'm trying to have a discussion with you, so can you please explain why it wouldn't have worked for Cena or Orton?

HHH IS POOPY!

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:29 PM

I could explain it...but I believe that it wouldn't sink in.

Plenty of reasons, the first one being that they used the fact that Punks contract was running out (and that it was common knowledge to a lot of fans) to build suspense to the point where nobody was sure what was going to happen if he won the title at MitB. That was the main aspect of the story that made the entire thing so exciting to watch and built up all the anticipation for each episode to see how it would turn out.

Could go on with more reasons but I think that one will suffice.

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:31 PM

My advice to you is go back to that promo CM Punk gave that was heard around the world...and tell me if Cena and Orton could relate to what was fustrating CM Punk...and hopefully you will see that Cena and Orton wouldn't of fit in that gimmick.

TheChairman 09-12-2011 08:31 PM

Are you resorting to insults? Really? Really?

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:35 PM

What?

Good point, however, have the ratings shown a significant change since this has happened? If they have, then he was the right man for the job, if they haven't maybe he isn't capable of being "that guy." With NOC being 6 days away and this being the last Raw, I think the ratings for this show are very important, and will tell the real story.

Corporate CockSnogger 09-12-2011 08:43 PM

I don't know how the ratings have been affected and I don't particularly care. I've been enjoying the product as of late so that's me satisfied.

TheChairman 09-12-2011 08:45 PM

Yes but at some point, you have to care about the state of the business, which to me,isn't very good unfortunately. I love this business and want it to succeed.

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:48 PM

So you are saying that the ratings would be better if it were Orton or Cena?

Corporate CockSnogger 09-12-2011 08:48 PM

Well I don't see how having anybody else in Punks position in this storyline would have helped the business in any way, which is how this discussion started. If you're just talking about the state of the business in general then that's an entirely different discussion really.

Blakeamus 09-12-2011 08:52 PM

It created a big buzz for sure and made RAW interesting the past few months...could give a two shits about ratings. Just wish people would stop thinking if RAW didn't have more than a 3.0 rating, it was the shits. And it hasn't been.

TheChairman 09-12-2011 08:53 PM

Well ok back to the CM Punk thing, he isn't believable, I wish they would have kept him playing the mind games instead of trying to be the tough guy. Like come on, if you seen Punk and Nash or HHH standing beside each other, you would give him a 2% chance of landing a punch before he got his head ripped off. I am just saying, don't have him come out acting all tough, and saying he will kick their teeth down their throats, but instead, act like he did before. That role fit him, not this tough guy act.
