Old Stars Being Brought Back?

The problem with bringing back too much old talent is balancing it with todays talent.
People like Cena and Orton are safe, but for every Rock, Kevin Nash or Trish Stratus that gets brought back, a whole bunch of guys like Ted DiBiase, Drew McIntyre and John Morrison get forgotten about. And any fans that no longer watch anymore, probably chose to stop watching because the product wasn't to their liking. I doubt someone will get back into WWE just because Mick Foley is back, or something. I really like WWE's roster at the moment, so I don't see a need to bring back old stars. Except Chris Jericho, of course. :D |
If they're doing this, they better be brought in to put over new talent and KEEP THEM OVER. Get them off the fucking yoyo and push them.
I don't want to see any of those names - and yes, Jericho included - if they're still going to focus on the top 5% of names and say fuck the undercard. |

Jericho I'd like back because he'd have no problem making new guys.

I doubt any of them would have any impact whatsoever on the midcard. Maybe Scotty would be remembered well, and Blackman for TPWW.
|
Maybe Noid finally got that writers job and we're getting a Val Venis title run.
|
Jericho: yes
Foley: yes, as long as he doesn't wrestle Batista: don't really care And I really don't think this is relevant anymore after HHH killing the Brand Extension...... bringing in new faces will only cause bumpo other (and possibly more deserving) down..... |
Jericho I wouldn't mind. Lots of ways he could go (including a feud with Punk) and he doesn't mind putting over the young guys.
Batista I wouldn't mind either. His last run with Cena was hilarious. He could do for the HHH enforcer role what Nash was unable to. Plus there's a whole new slew of ladies in the Divas division for dancin Dave to get his mac on. Foley, unless he's going to be on commentary or as a manager, I don't want to see him. He's been the authority figure. He's put over the young guys. He's done the guest enforcer role. No mas. |
Jericho has said before that he will definitely be returning to the WWE, but just not right now.
|
Rock needs to job to Cena. Clean.
|
GIVE ME DANCING DAVE OR DEATH
|
Bring him back to feud with Mason Ryan.

I think Sean O'Haire and Mark Jindrak deserve another chance. They never seemed to get the WCW stink off of them. Maybe it's time for another chance of "I've had Peas before" Luther Reigns.
I would love Deuce and Domino to come back as a team, but I heard Deuce was a douche in real life. Whoooooooa! |
Jericho should be main eventing
|
Aww snap, Raw gonna be Batista Bombed.
|
so is Dancin' Dave gonna return to reclaim the Konami Code I guess?

Batista would need 2-3 months to get back into "ring shape".
But I miss the Batista that left us. |
Bring back Gangrel
|
Interesting. Chris Jericho is always welcome. Batista is...a big name, granted. I'm not a huge fan, but if he returned I'm sure it could be entertaining for a few months. Mick Foley is someone I don't want to see in the ring (although the idea of a Foley vs. Miz match intrigues me, for some reason), but he could make a good mouthpiece/host for NXT/commentator or even playing some sort of authority role.
As far as returning mid-carders go -- I would not actually mind a sort of Nexus angle, but with mid-carders who never felt they had their shot. Imagine a pissed off Scott Taylor coming in, talking about how he jumped and danced around for our entertainment; broke his neck for the company, and was then released because no one took him seriously. In FCW, you have Billy Kidman & Joey Mercury as trainers. Steve Blackman got a pretty nice pop when he did that spot on RAW a year or two back, and he's got that Chuck Norris sort of vibe that could be weirdly marketable in 2011. Sean O'Haire would be a good choice, if he looked more like this: http://media.screened.com/uploads/0/...an_o_haire.jpg And less like this: http://www.gerweck.net/wp-content/up.../01/ohaire.jpg Jamie Noble is always welcome, too, but I'm not sure if the guy is interested in getting into the ring again. Oh, and re-hire Finlay. I'd suggest Sean Morley, but frankly, the guy seems pretty nuts these days. As do a lot of former WWE mid-carders, truthfully. Realistically, I think Cliff Compton (he seemed to have some good friends in the WWE), Chuck Palumbo, Jimmy Yang and Scott Taylor are likely hirings. Maybe A-Train, if he's interested in returning to the States. Also, if MVP is open to a WWE return, they might take him back. R-Truth is getting a pretty nice push, and he's got a past behind him. An idea I have truthfully had before, is the possibility of doing a season of NXT, where the concept is that a bunch of former WWE talent compete against each other for a new WWE contract, and a chance to challenge for the WWE or World Heavyweight Title, and grab the brass ring they never did before. It'd be perfect for a Scott Taylor to tell us about how he spent too much time entertaining the fans and not taking his in-ring career seriously. |
Oh, and I'd totally mark out for the return of Simon Dean. I truthfully believe that Mike Bucci is perhaps one of the most misused stars in WWE history. The guy was unbelievable in the ring, and entirely competent on the mic. Oh, and come to think of it -- Steven Richards was always apparently a favourite of Vince McMahon. The guy is still in great shape, and if his story was told, and he revealed his dream was to become a recognised champion in the WWE -- then he could get a lot of fan support.
Imagine the following cast for a spin-off of NXT: * A-Train * Dice Domino * Jimmy Yang * Johnny Jeter * MVP * Rhyno * Scotty 2 Hotty * Steven Richards That's a diverse range of talent that I'm sure could still work some great matches. The oldest is Steven Richards, who this year turns 40. Johnny Jeter is still under 30. Rhyno is only 35. |
