Who Owns the Move?
 

There are certain moves that will always be associated with one guy, like the Pedigree or Figure 4, but certain finishers or signature moves overlap among top wrestlers and I was wondering who you guys subconsciously associate a move with when you see it used by guys who don't normally use it.

Like when Shawn would apply the Crossface or Rock would apply the Scorpion Deathlock/Sharpshooter you might immediately think of Benoit and Bret or Sting. Or how Johnny Ace may have used the Cutter first, but more people are likely to be reminded of DDP or Orton when they see it. It might be due to liking one guy over the other or generational reasons. Just curious.

Spear: Goldberg. There was nothing intimidating or awesome about Edge spearing someone as a finish, unless said someone was hanging from a ladder. He had better finishes.

Frog Splash: Eddie. No reason, just who I think of when I see someone do it. Maybe it's because he's dead.

None of the above because neither of these guys is well-known enough outside of the internet for have their names be synonymous with a move. It would be very easy for anyone to come into WWE and make this move their own.

Also "Too Cold Scorpio" is a totally gay-ass retarded name for a wrestler.

I was considering Art Barr for the Frog Splash, as well as Riki Choshu for the Sharpshooter, but many would complain.

To be fair....Eddie and RVD do the Frog Splash different. I really don't see them as the same move.

Bret - Just cause I watched WWF before WCW but I identify it with Bret more so. Sting's signature move for me was always the Scorpion Deathdrop.

Spear:
Edge - as someone mentioned earlier, Edge has more iconic moments with the Spear than Goldberg. In saying that Rhyno always had the best Spear.

Frog Splash:
Eddie Guerrero - To be honest I almost consider his and RVD's as different moves due to the huge differences between them.

Scott Hall - It's Razor Ramon's finisher and it's called the Razor's Edge.

How about the Chokeslam or Shooting Star Press? I would go with the Undertaker and Evan Bourne (even though Billy Kidman was the first I had ever seen use it regularly) respectively.

How about the Rock Bottom or the Book End? I didn't watch much of WCW back in the day so I don't know for how long Booker T was using it as his finisher.

Booker T started using the move in 2000.

What about the boston crab? Has jericho taken the move, AND changed its name for the most part? Cause i think walls of jericho when I see it.
