The Binding of Issac
This needs it's own thread. Why? Fuck you, that's why.
<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zIs2IQx7jV0" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe> From the makers of Super Meat Boy but turning their hand to Zelda instead now, with multiple endings and every level randomly generated giving masses of replayability. http://static.arstechnica.net/2011/0...3fae-intro.jpg It's kind of that mature Zelda that guy wanted, but instead of over-compensatory manly Link and swear jokes, this is mature in the sense that the character is fucked up and multi-faceted. It leans into art game territory a few times, but the gamplay itself holds up so I can let off the occasional veers into the world of pretension. This is what Ars said about it: Quote:
I can not recommend this game enough, it's even priced right as it's currently £3.59/$4.50, so just get it. http://store.steampowered.com/app/113200/ |
Fuckity shit, what?
That's the creepiest concept ever. |
Gameplay looks kind of geometry wars-ish. Kind of sick of that crap.

You had me at "From the makers of Super Meat Boy."
I love those motherfuckers. However, WHAT THE FUCK? |
It's a fun diversion from playing something else. I pick it up about once a day to attempt getting through. I've probably only found about 40% of the possible items in the game, and I've gotten to "Mom" once.

Trying to play this, keeps saying it is unavailable. Is it cause I am in Peru or it's just messed up.
|
Yeah, some games on Steam require you to be in a supported region.

I ended up deleting it after beating in twice (the extended basement the second time) in back to back play-throughs. Certainly worth the money spent, but I don't think it has enough depth and variability to be super-replayable.
