I knew it was coming when they released the news that he had cancer on Saturday considering he got diagnosed in September..

RIP to a fucking LEGEND Smoking Joe Frazier

RIP to a legend and a good man.

El Fangel 11-08-2011 12:05 AM

Just played on Sportscenter. One of the few boxers I know. RIP.

RoXer 11-08-2011 10:47 AM

My favorite :(

Watching old video of him is amazing. He hits like a truck. His left hand was a fucking hammer.

Kris P Lettus 11-08-2011 11:13 AM

His relentless style and his devastating left hook were something that still, after 40 years, would make a guy a top 5 fighter..

His only loses came to Ali twice and to Foreman once.. He beat both of them also..

Gertner 11-08-2011 11:23 AM

Greatest Heavyweight of all Time

Frazier never beat Foreman by the way. Lost via TKO in 73 and 76 to him

Kris P Lettus 11-08-2011 11:25 AM

Thought they split 1-1..

Gertner 11-08-2011 11:30 AM

Foreman actually kicked the shit out of Frazier both times. I know for a fact Foreman tko'd Frazier in round 2 in 1973, and I believe he was tko'd again in round 5 in 1976

Gertner 11-08-2011 11:34 AM

Foreman was the one fighter who was just too big for Frazier.

Gertner 11-08-2011 04:56 PM

Had an argument today with somebody claiming Joe Frazier was the #2 greatest ever behind Mike Tyson. MIKE TYSON!

Blakeamus 11-08-2011 05:06 PM

And to think before his death, the guy you argued with would of said, Ali was 2nd behind Tyson.

Still cant believe they went 15 rds in the Phillipines in those conditions.

Fantastic athlete, what a puncher too.

God bless the old school heavyweights.

RIP to a legend.

His left hook was ridiculous. Just devastating.

Aguakate 11-08-2011 10:20 PM

Truly sad, he was just diagnosed a few weeks ago. Guess it was too late.

Rest in Peace.

Gertner 11-08-2011 10:22 PM

Not a lot left from that era.

Emperor Smeat 11-08-2011 10:35 PM

RIP.

Easily the best trilogy of boxing fights him and Ali had in boxing history and overall for that era. Probably wouldn't have had the Thrilla in Manilla if Ali never beat Foreman in the Rumble in the Jungle bout.

I don't know, the Ingemar Johansson vs Floyd Patterson trilogy was pretty sweet and the 2nd Ali vs Frazier fight sucked.

RIP Smokin' Joe. You were amazing.
