First rassler to use entrance music

Who the hell was it? They may even have used pyro.

DLVH84 11-20-2011 08:59 PM

Georgeous George

Shisen Kopf 11-20-2011 09:00 PM

Did he have pyro?

DLVH84 11-20-2011 09:01 PM

No.

Shisen Kopf 11-20-2011 09:03 PM

If he did, he woulda been the greatest of all time. Georgeous George is the dude Ric Flair stole his gimmick from right?

DLVH84 11-20-2011 09:23 PM

No, it was Buddy Rogers that Flair ripped off.

Shisen Kopf 11-20-2011 09:39 PM

That's right. Georgeous George was the guy acting guy right?

DLVH84 11-20-2011 10:19 PM

Yeah. Gorgeous George originated the glamour boy style.

XCaliber 11-20-2011 10:55 PM

Wasn't it Michael PS Hayes?

Michael Hayes was the first man to use rock music as his entrance theme.

When did Hayes first start coming out to Rock & Roll? From what I know the first ones to come out to rock music was Leroy Brown, coming out to "Bad Bad Leroy Brown."

On a side note, Junkyard Dog is said to have gotten his ring name from that song.

Probably died of AIDS that queer.

Innovator 11-21-2011 09:34 PM

Pffft, the answer is Konnan. He invented music.

McLegend 11-21-2011 09:39 PM

Pretty much anyone with a flamboyant persona owes a debt to Gorgeous George. He used Pomp and Circumstance (same theme Randy Savage used).

NeanderCarl 11-27-2011 11:19 AM

I don't think it became widespread to use entrance music until the Freebirds started doing so years later though. Then it really caught on. Even in WWE, I still remember contracted 'name' guys without entrance themes as late as 1995 (when Backlund finally succumbed and got some entrance music).

The Freebirds debuted a year before Leroy did.

Gorgeous George.

Actually, Macho Man himself stole Gorgeous George's theme music, "Pomp and Circumstance".
