The Money in the Bank winner should just be able to take the belt away from the current champion at any point they wish. The hook to this stipulation is that they have to defend it immediately against the former champion in a match and if they lose the title back they're not allowed another title shot for 1 year.

It's not really a gimmick. More like a slogan. And I should tell you, I didn't come up with it ;)

I think it was initially a great idea. It was like a mini Royal Rumble and it added an element of surprise when it first started which was during a time of long title reigns and a feeling of no surprises (this is 2005-2007 which was not too far removed from the Attitude Era which was full of surprises). But over time they started doing the same thing and now its become repetitive and lost its charm.

To answer the OP's question, I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense either except for the fact that the champ just went through a match right then and may not have the strength to defend again. However, there should be a rematch clause absolutely.
