Dreamcast
Getting hold of a Dreamcast, any games i should pick up?
Just look for torrents. You can play burned games on the DC with no mods necessary.
Its chipped anyway, just can't think of any games that came out for it.
Resident Evil Code Veronica, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia II , Tokyo Extreme Racer, Sonic Adventure I & II...
Soul Calibur and pretty much any fighter from Capcom. Most importantly Power Stone 2.

I was always a fan of the Fire Pro Wrestling games, and there's one on there but I don't know if it's any good. Also Kiss: Psycho Circus: The Nightmare Child :shifty: |
Been looking on ebay and bought the UFC and ECW games,i vaguely remember them being okay. Saw a spawn game, anyone know if its worth playing?
Do NOT entertain the ECW game.
Shenmue was the shit.
I loved the Dreamcast.
Soul Calibur. The Sonic games were pretty fun. Marvel vs Capcom 2 if you haven't played it yet. If you like heavy metal music/weird fighting games check out Heavy Metal Geomatrix. |
Favourite console ever. If you have a crt TV get the lightgun games like house of the dead. Here are some other gems that haven't been touched on:
Daytona USA Ferrari F365 Challenge Heavy Metal Geomatrix Pen Pen Tricilion Sonic Adventure 1&2 Headhunter Phantasy Star Online V2 (still works online if you get the European version and codebreaker) Seaman Toy Commander Typing of the Dead Cannon Spike Chu Chu Rocket Crazy Taxi 1&2 Giant Gram 2000 Elbowed I-Spy Jet Set Radio Last Hope: Pink Bullets Mr Driller Nomad Soul Ooga Booga Outrigger Rez San Francisco Rush 2049 Rival Schools 2 (Get the Japanese version and use a translation guide. Create a character makes it even better.). Space Channel 5 Virtua Athlete |
Trading in my Dreamcast is the biggest regret of my life. :(
Suck it Triple Naitch
There's a giant scratch on the first one. How dare you abuse one of those beautiful machines.

Yeah, that and WWF Attitude (?) were pretty much the exact same game and they were awful. Dunno if anyone mentioned Jet Set Radio yet but that game was a riot and it's all I can think of since Power Stone and Shenmue were named. |
Jet Set Radio was awesome. So was Crazy Taxi and the first Sonic.

Crazy Taxi 2 has the map from part one.
The story to Shenmue got me really involved in it, loved it so much, I would definately say Shenmue is a must. Think after playing the first one, you will want the second too, still wish I knew what happened with the rest of the story!
Yu Suzuki recently tweeted that he thinks he can buy the Shenmue rights from Sega. God I hope he's right.
And watch Sega cock block for no other reason than to eventually release digital re-releases with no plans for a part three. Or worse yet, start production on part three with no input from Suzuki.
Both outcomes are more realistic than Yu working on a proper sequel. |
They can keep on taking their time. I still haven't really gotten around to getting into Shenmue 2.
I'm pretty happy I eBayed my Game Gear away and used that money to get a V1 Dreamcast. The only game I've completed on it is Seaman, because why the fuck not.

It basically consists of your character (and a 2nd player if you have one) running through area-type stages, and killing enemies until the boss appears, at which point you have a short amount of time to kill him. You progress through a series of 6 stages or so until you confront Malebolgia. I will say the final boss is disappointing, but there are tons of characters so there is more replay value than a standard arcade port. So if you're a fan of the comics then I would recommend picking it up. |
Got it today and it came without any cables  Ebay here i come :nono:
I think Mortal Kombat Gold was on it too...but not sure if it was any good.
Edit: No, it wasn't....Nevermind! |
