What is the point of your thread? A paper championship is generally considered to be nominal and unimportant in the grand scheme to the point where its holder is usually considered one and done.

CM Punk is a four time champion, main events almost all the pay per views as WWE Champion and is responsible for bringing interest back to the WWE. His opponents since his feud with Vince have been Cena, Del Rio, Miz and now Ziggler and I think Del Rio's injury prompted them to go with Ziggler. Del Rio is a multi-time champion and a star for the most part. Everyone bitches and moans about Cena being in the main event too much, and Miz was really only in that match as the third wheel. Looking at the Raw roster, who hasn't he faced that would make you think his reign is being marginalized?

Cena, Dolph, del Rio, and miz. Their not full blown star power. However I wouldn't say he is a paper champion, its more like a "let's build for the future" champion. Even when he wins he doesnt just bury his opponent. He made del Rio and miz look pretty good at rock. And I think this match at rumble could solidify Dolph.

I really wouldn't consider. Miz, Rio, and Dolph "heavyweights" though.

Mind you I suppose with all the older guy's retired or claiming their pension,
or dying you have to roll the dice..

A good champion makes his opponents look good. That's what a champion does.

I love Miz and Dolph, enjoy Del Rio and am okay with Cena. Beating Cena by itself is enough to show that he's not just a "paper champion".
