Hypothetical: If Miz was let go from the WWE

How well would he perform in a place like Ring of Honor? Would they give him gold? What would the fan reaction be?

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 12:19 PM

He's an entertainer first. I don't think he'd fit in at all.

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 12:20 PM

However he'd be TNA's champion exactly 30 days and 2 seconds after being released.

MoFo 02-05-2012 12:33 PM

He wouldnt be over in ROH, their fans like Dean Malenko types, ie, boring.

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 01:19 PM

You shut your mouth when you're talking about Dean Malenko, Goddammit.

RiX1024 02-05-2012 01:30 PM

He would have a break from wrestling and try his hand at acting.

Swiss Ultimate 02-05-2012 01:38 PM

So you're saying that if The Rock, Undertaker or Shawn Michaels showed up in a ROH ring they'd get booed?

Entertainer or not, Miz is a former WWE World Champ and great on the mic. I find it hard to believe that they'd snub him. If anything he'd have the most heat in the entire company.

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 01:41 PM

He wouldn't fit in in the ring though and that's what is important. He works a WWE style well. I can't exactly see him in a technical masterpiece though.

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 01:42 PM

Shawn Michaels definitely wouldn't be snubbed. I don't even know why you included him in that list. He's one of, if not the greatest wrestler of all time.

Rammsteinmad 02-05-2012 02:06 PM

Look at it this way, Miz has stated in the past that he has been a wrestling fan his entire life, and despite all the hatred he received in the locker room for being 'the reality tv guy', he busted his ass and became one of the #1 guys in the company, including defending the WWE title in the main event of a Wrestlemania.

If he was released from WWE and went to ROH, TNA or anywhere else, I'm sure he would work hard to attain equal ammounts of success.

In other words, he would be fine.

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 02:12 PM

I could say "He'd work his ass off and do whatever is necessary for him to succeed in that environment" about a shit ton of guys. Maybe he would. As he is now though, he wouldn't be able to go there immediately and succeed.

Triple Naitch 02-05-2012 02:15 PM

I can't see Miz ever going to another wrestling promotion. If he ever left WWE then he would do something in Hollywood before he ever wrestled again.

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 02:18 PM

lol. Hypothetical.

St. Jimmy 02-05-2012 02:19 PM

He can't wrestle and he can't cut a promo. He'd be much better suited for TNA

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 02:20 PM

lol. St. Jimmy taking it a bit further than I would.

Indifferent Clox 02-05-2012 02:20 PM

A lot of smarks love miz. It'd be good heat.

whiteyford 02-05-2012 02:40 PM

ROH fans shat all over one of the Hardys making an appearance but it was sold out, sure the Miz would draw there too,if only to get kicked about the place.

Droford 02-05-2012 03:16 PM

I see ROH below the Miz. He might go to TNA but I seriously doubt he'd ever bother with ROH. I think he'd turn to acting or something else besides wrestling first.

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 03:19 PM

He's asking a hypothetical guys. Come on. lol

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 03:20 PM

We all know Miz going to RoH is pretty far-fetched.

A ROH fan ripping on a WWE wrestler's mic skills. Interesting.

XL 02-05-2012 05:21 PM

Jimmy is completely obtuse with his criticisms of anything in the wrestling world.

Being "able to cut a promo" hasn't stopped The Briscoe Brothers (who also aren't great in the ring) becoming successful there. Or Benjamin/Haas. Or any number of guys on the roster.

Captain of Fun 02-05-2012 05:27 PM

Also, the miz may not cut the best promos in wwe, but to say that he can't cut one at all, is a bold face lie.

Hypothetical question police to the rescue.

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 05:45 PM

I just love how it's become a discussion about whether Miz would go to RoH like someone is actually trying to argue that point. lol

Who would have thought a discussion on The People's Wrestling Website would get off track?

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 05:50 PM

I think you just called everyone retarded. lol

XCaliber 02-05-2012 06:27 PM

Somehow I couldn't see him going to any of the other major promotions in the USA if anything I could end up seeing him going back to an indy fed or out east when he's a fair bit older though.

Razzamajazz 02-05-2012 10:34 PM

he'd instantly become the biggest heel in the company

CSL 02-05-2012 10:40 PM

^ pretty much

Damndirty 02-05-2012 11:25 PM

Don't know where he'd go, but Vince's reaction to his departure would be to hold his hands behind his back, rock on his heels, whistling, and rolling his eyes as if nothing happened, either never mentioning him leaving or saying Miz had a permanent injury and is never gonna wrestle again, but he suddenly pops up on another promotion. For the record, he's going to go where he can get more publicity, so it'd be more TNA-wise than ROH-wise.

Sting Fan 02-05-2012 11:48 PM

Anyone who says Miz wouldnt main event in any promotion other than WWE is pissing into the wind with there mouth open.

The guys a star, yes he doesn't put on 5 star classics with a broom but the guy can go.

Any smaller promotion than WWE who picked him up would be stupid not to have him in the there title hunt and hang the belt on him pretty quickly.

#1-norm-fan 02-05-2012 11:58 PM

And we all know that there's no such thing as a "stupid" indy fed.

St. Jimmy 02-06-2012 12:02 AM

I see the Miz below ROH, but you're retarded so I'll just pretend you didn't speak.

#1-norm-fan 02-06-2012 12:05 AM

Who are you talking to?

St. Jimmy 02-06-2012 12:37 AM

Pretty much everyone in the thread, honestly.

Sting Fan 02-06-2012 12:59 AM

So The Miz, a former WWE Champion whos good on the mic and still probably a little before his prime is below ROH...

Such a shame I always forget to tune into ROH Primetime Monday night show.
