Underated Mic Skills

Which Wrestler do you think was great on the microphone but never got enough time on it?

The Ravishing One 05-04-2004 10:25 AM

Steve Blackman

Stevie Richards would probably have to be my pick

big_bluto 05-04-2004 10:41 AM

HHH....

no...wait....

Paranoid Rattlesnake 05-04-2004 10:51 AM

Mike Sanders, He wasn't even given his shot in the WWE

I always liked Lance Storm on the mic, just because of his 'If I can be serious for a minute' line in WCW

Booker T

Dean Malenko was actually pretty good too, but everyone seemed to think he was the black hole of charisma.

Nark Order 05-04-2004 12:24 PM

RVD back in ECW cut some hardcore promos that were actually very good.

The Cat had phenomenal mic skills.

Val Venis was gold on the mic back in the day

Goldust was the god of promos

Loose Cannon 05-04-2004 01:46 PM

Mike Sanders by a long shot. I mean he really knows how to work the mic. Everytime he grabbed the mic in WCW, my channel stayed put and he had my attention the whole way through. I still can't understand why the WWE didn't hire him because he has a HUGE amount of charisma and his wrestling skills are decent. I mean he's no Benoit, Jericho, Guerrero etc. when it comes to wrestling, but Christ, look at all the guys that suck at wrestling and suck even more on the mic and are on TV.

i think the Cat's mic skills are actually what got him as far as he got.

I have to agree.

Remember when Cena debuted? He was freaking awful.

Mr. Nerfect 05-05-2004 04:57 AM

Val Venis.

Dave Youell 05-05-2004 07:12 AM

Jamie Knoble

Wondermouse 05-05-2004 07:47 AM

Batista.

Goldbird 05-05-2004 07:53 AM

The Penis. (val venis)

HankScorpio 05-05-2004 07:57 AM

Gotta go with Venis....then JBL :shifty:

The Show Off 05-05-2004 02:35 PM

I always thought that Big Show was a very underrated mic worker, he could be pretty funny if he wants to.

Disturbed316 05-05-2004 02:40 PM

Raven

He never got enough mic time in WWE, which is a shame.

very true :y:

Rob 05-05-2004 02:54 PM

Jim Cornette. Only the internet marks ever rated him.

BLaZeR- 05-05-2004 02:55 PM

The Cat (who ruled as WCW commisioner)
Big Show
Booker T
Mike Sanders

Vastardikai 05-05-2004 03:19 PM

Rhyno, the guy sounded psychotic.

Lamuella 05-05-2004 03:36 PM

I still think Eddie Gilbert was one of the best and most underrated promo men in the entire world.

Lamuella 05-05-2004 03:37 PM

*remembers old school Hot Stuff and Paul E doing the $10,000 challenge*

Corkscrewed 05-05-2004 04:59 PM

John Cena's promos pre-"Ice Ice" Cena (particularly those on Test) were kind of funny. That's why it was no surprise to me that he would take off as far as he did.

Dean Malenko was great. Part of it, was his voice. I was watching that stuff from his "feud" with Lita... and it was some of the most hilarious stuff ever.

Raven was always a good mic worker.

Tazz (but he was "muted" in WWE)

Jamie Noble...he really, really cracks me up. I thought he was gonna suck with that voice of his, but since he was playing a trailerparker with the wrestling skills of a Japanese mat veteran he turned out to be one of my favorites.

and you might think this is weird, but CHRIS BENOIT of all people has a way of making things hilarious just because it's him saying it. Two of my favorite things he ever said were:

"If you put a couple of letter Fs at the end of your hero's name..." (talking about Jericho to the crowd)

"I'm sick of Paul Heyman's crap...and tonight, I'm gonna make these two bitches TAP. Word...Life".

If that wasn't Benoit who said those things, neither of those things would have been as hilarious as they were.

Renea the guy is great on the mic when he has it. Just give a French Heel a chance will yah :(

Your mom has underrated mic skills. She talks VERY dirty in bed. :naughty: She's quite the technical wrestler in the sack as well (her 'reverse chin-lock' on my balls was quite impressive). Unfortunately, I had to hit the 'unprettier' when I was done. Don't worry - your mom swallowed most of it, and we used a towel to clean the rest of it.
