The Kane vs. Fake Kane storyline
 

I know it was scrapped due to the minimal response the match got at Vengeance, but was it ever revealed how the storyline was supposed to turn out?

I think it was what Kane (non masked) was seeing in his nightmares, the Masked version was coming forward to confront him by saying you can't escape. The mask is who you are.

Was this the same storyline where he kept shouting "MAY 15TH" at ppl?

May 19th mate, and the Kane vs Kane feud should of never happened.

The "May 19th" storyline had Kane carrying a burlap sack which contained a mask - not Kane's mask but Rey Mysterio's. This lead to a fued with Rey. IIRC.

I thought the May 19th storyline was to plug See No Evil.

It was, but WWE's attempt to incorporate it into a WWE storyline could have been a horror movie all itself.

May 19th was the Fake Kane story. It was the release date of See No Evil, which Kane stated was the date of the fire he was in as a child, which drove him crazy every time someone mentioned it, which brought in the other Masked Kane.


I was kind of enjoying the fake Kane thing, until Kane said in an interview that he knew who the guy was, some one he knew as a kid, who was more messed up than he was.

Some one tell me how Kane knew any kids when he was younger, when he was supposed to have spent his childhood in the basement being raised by Paul Bearer?

Oh yeah... Kane's back story makes zero sense.

Then he would turn heel for some reason, disavow his former gimmick, and drop pipe bombs on the boys backstage.

He'd only be in the doghouse after his first major title win.

When was the Rey fued, then?

I think it was just as Rey came back from injury in 2008, around September I think. The Kane/ Imposter Kane angle was 2006, to promote See No Evil.
