Chris Brown doesn't belong in the news, so it was bad and good of Punk to call him out, the good being that somebody famous is calling his ass out, and we are getting to watch it all play out ending with Chris Brown going to the fuck to sleep.

This is obviously orchestrated by WWE, and WWE already has a famous woman beater that makes appearances.

I doubt it is orchestrated by WWE in the sense that Brown is in on it. I also doubt they came up with the idea. Probably mostly Punk's doing since it came from a throwaway tweet. BUT the Dub Dub Eee will absolutely love the publicity.

At the end of the day, whether Brown knows who Punk is or not is irrelevant. I would love to see Punk choke him out. I don't think any women beaters can ever really redeem themselves, but particularly not when it's a prolonged attack not influenced by drugs or drink.

They also have a murderer who makes appearances.

Like I've said before, I would love nothing more than to wake up and hear that Chris Brown died in some horrible way, but Punk's off base. Austin beat his wife and was so sorry about it he beat his girlfriend a couple of years later, but that doesn't stop Punk from kissing his ass and wearing Stone Cold t-shirts to the ring. Going after Brown makes Punk come off as a bit self serving and attention seeking.

Sadly, I actually have to agree with Ryan Clark. The more Chris Brown tweets on this, the bigger of a douche he looks like. It doesn't help that in the video he posted, CM Punk comes across as well spoken and humble, and pretty much puts Brown in his place.

What I find hilarious though are the people claiming CM Punk is doing this for attention. If anyone has ever actually listened to CM Punk, he's actually a pretty closed off person, and isn't a huge fan of attention. HE pretty much hates being bothered in public.

The major difference is that the Chris Brown thing got A LOT more publicity, and Chris Brown, very recently, was rewarded by the music industry. Plus, CM PUnk didn't really "go after" Chris Brown. He mentioned him in a throw away tweet, as a joke. Like tons of people have done. Chris Brown then accused Punk of being on steroid. Knowing CM Punk, that probably had more to do with his response than the wife beating issue. I'm sure it was "if you're going to wrongfully accuse me of shit, I'm going to bury you for the shit you've done."

What does the Chris Brown incident getting more publicity have to do with anything? A woman beater is a woman beater. So the idea that one is different from the other because more people pay attention to Brown is inane, especially when Punk's biggest sphere of influence is in wrestling. Punk's aware of what Austin did, sees the WWE reward and hype Austin and again, seems to have no problems with him. I don't hear or read him saying he wants Austin at Wrestlemania so he can curb stomp him. And Punk isn't like everyone else making comments due to his celebrity. If one of us tweets about kicking that bastards ass and CM Punk tweets about kicking that bastards ass, which one is going to draw more attention?

Plus, if Punk's tweet was meant to be taking as a "throwaway joke" (which I doubt) and Brown overreacted, then you should probably say the same about CM Punk responding to Brown's childish comeback about steroids and pleasing women. It works both ways there.

Steve Austin beating his wife is not currently relevant. It didn't happen recently, nor has Austin been recently "forgiven" or "rewarded" by the industry. Chris Brown is current and relevant. One would be CM Punk bringing up the past, one is him commenting on a current event. Is it that hard to believe that someone can comment on a current women beater without having to comment on people who have beaten women prior? I get what you're saying, but it's totally different, as the Chris Brown situation is actually relevant right now. When was the last time Austin was champion? Or claimed that the wrestling industry has forgiven him for "what he did"

Also, let's be honest, CM Punk isn't stupid. How do you think it's going to fly if he calls out one of the WWE's biggest stars ever as a wife beater?

And how was his tweet not a throwaway? It was one tweet, which was clearly a joke. Do you think CM Punk actually was trying to provoke a "twitter war" with CHris Brown? Come on.

And I never said Chris Brown "overreacted." And no, CM Punk didn't overreact. CM Punk referenced something that actually happened. Chris Brown essentially committed libel against CM Punk. Punk responding to a blatantly false claim is not overreacting.

Is going on to challenge him to a fight overreacting? Maybe. But hell, if Punk wants to use the media attention over this to call out an asshole, I'm all for it.

Yeah and Mike Tyson went to prison for his crimes; lost out on a lot of money and is only now being embraced by the mainstream, but that is partially because he understands that he will always be the punchline to jokes. Chris Brown on the other hand picked up trash on the side of the road and took classes in anger management, but still has problems controlling himself. A good example of this is when he became defensive on Good Morning America when the issue was brought up and later attempted to throw a chair out of a window. The worst thing to ever happen to this guy was him joining Twitter because now he has an instant way to be confrontational with people like last summer when he began a feud with Odd Future, which escalated in his cousins looking to get Frank Ocean. As with this situation Chris Brown had been provoked, but because CM Punk is a notable person, like Odd Future, he is taking this to the next level and it didn't end until CM Punk offered to fight him.
