Doug Furnas was one of my favorites growing up. He had one of the best Dropkicks and Frankensteiners in the business. And unlike a lot of strongmen who transitioned into pro wrestling, he adapted the most by trading much of his muscle mass for ring skills.

Sad. Hell of wrestler. Had some really interesting gimmicks, and some really good matches.

I seriously haveno idea who this guy is....help me out.

He was a world class powerlifter turned wrestler. He wrestled mostly tags with Dan Kroffat. He mostly wrestled in Japan and a number of great matches. I know there is a stigma here with puro, but he had a great match with Van Dam in ECW, I'll try to find it.

He was from Oklahoma, so no.....

God, wrestling matches used to be worth giving a fuck about.

Yeah because the WWF/E would never give a wrestler a gimmick about an ethnicity or origin they don't have or represent...

I remember wrestling Doug Furnas in Don Owens teriitory out in Portland in 1986. So of a bitch wouldn't sell my Canadian Destroyer.

After watching a few matches with Owen and Bulldog I still do not remember this guy or that team at all. How long was he in the wwf?

He and LaFon were there for a year. From Survivor Series '96 to Survivor Series '97.

Most memorable thing was their debut at a Survivor Series, it was a 3 on 3 tag team survivor series match. I want to say Furnas and LaFon did all the eliminations on their teams' side.

I also liked their series with The British Bulldogs at the tail end of 1989.

Seeing as he was only with them for a year I highly doubt it but anyhow RIP.

Nah, his bio doesnt even mention any time spent in the WWF/WWE. That and I dont ever recall seeing him outside of ECW ('96 or so) or WCW.

The Quebecer's consisted of Jaques Rougeau and Carl Oullet.

Bah, a poor man's ripoff of the earlier WWF 'Can-Am Connection' consisting of Rick Martel and Tom Zinc, circa 1987.

Zenk sucks compared to Furnas and Kroffat. Martel was the better half of the team.

I also grew up enjoying Furnas and LaFon in WWF. R.I.P.
