If you don't get this, you are dead to me. It even has Move support! I won't even judge you for wanting to play this with motion controls, the story and random dialogue are more than worth it.

If you grab this and don't get Lollipop chainsaw, I'll forgive you more.

What Would Kevin Do? 03-08-2012 07:28 PM

Excellent. This is news that I would consider "awesome."

G 03-08-2012 07:31 PM

Picked this up back in January. Just waiting for it to come up in the rotation.

RoXer 03-31-2012 06:40 PM

How long is this game? I've just started, attempting to finish this over the weekend, and I really want to play other things.

#BROKEN Hasney 03-31-2012 06:43 PM

Took me about 60 hours, but I did most of the side-quests and was having too much fun hearing the two main characters discussing movies.

From what I've read, can probably bang it out in about 10-20 if you want. You might miss a lot of delightful things though and there's not much better out there to play anyway.

Swiss Ultimate 03-31-2012 07:20 PM

So weird...

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gI3Mq13DxUU?version=3&feature=player_detailpage"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gI3Mq13DxUU?version=3&feature=player_detailpage" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="360"></object>

Swiss Ultimate 03-31-2012 07:36 PM

It's like if David Lynch directed a video-game.

#BROKEN Hasney 03-31-2012 08:08 PM

Pretty much. The Japanese guy who directed the whole thing said Twin Peaks was a massive influence. It is amazing, probably finished it about 5 times.

Swiss Ultimate 03-31-2012 08:37 PM

I'm watching the cut-scenes instead since I hear the actual game controls are horrible.

RoXer 03-31-2012 09:11 PM

I'm sure this game is weird enough if I just stick to the main missions.

Tell me what I missed with the sidequest stuff, Hasney

RoXer 03-31-2012 09:16 PM

I feel like I'm missing a lot of the enjoyment by having never seen Twin Peaks. It's on Netflix but I want to finish Deadly Premonition over the weekend.

Only first saw Twin Peaks a year or two ago, but it's a pretty cool show and the only reason I'm considering purchasing this.

The controls are the same as Shenmue really.

I know, we've come a long way since then, but it was the console it was supposed to come out on originally.

Really? I watched Twin Peaks afterwards because of how much I enjoyed the game. A decent knowledge of 80's films helps, I found though.

As for side-quests, it's all character development really. You learn a lot about the town and why it is like it is.

#BROKEN Hasney 04-01-2012 03:15 AM

As for the rest of you... You have $13 burning a hole in your pocket, don't you? Do it. Do it.

Hasney, will you fire-walk with me?

#BROKEN Hasney 04-01-2012 09:37 AM

Do you know who I am? I am the arm, and I sound like this...

WHOOOP

Kane Knight 04-01-2012 10:14 AM

The owls are not what they seem.

RoXer 04-21-2012 06:04 PM

Hasney you owe me about 30 hours of my life back

Kane Knight 04-21-2012 06:11 PM

lol

RoXer 04-21-2012 06:17 PM

Hours played: 15

No way. Seems like 35 or so. That can't be right.

Maybe that's literally "play" time and doesn't include cutscenes.

Indifferent Clox 04-25-2012 09:13 AM

Got this for xbox360 recently. Maybe will trade this and amular for the new version. Been playing amular for a while and just never had that moment where I was sold.witcher 2 however got me as soon as I was in flotsam.

The guy who created the game calls the driving sections boring. Bizarre. I need to check this out.

#BROKEN Hasney 04-19-2013 02:18 AM

IT'S ALMOST HEEEERRRRREEEEE

I remember renting this game, playing it. And getting no where at all.

May give it a shot again.

Corporate CockSnogger 04-25-2013 05:59 AM

Hasney, I'm not going to read all the stuff about it in video game technobabble that I won't understand. What's different about this? Is it worth me picking it up?

#BROKEN Hasney 04-25-2013 06:04 AM

It's got a new prologue and a branching ending system as well as updated graphics and controls.

If you're as insane as me, it's worth it. For people who have never played it or don't have a 360, this is worth it.

For you... Eh. It's coming out at £40 by the looks of it. It's out tomorrow, leave it a week and look at the new cutscenes on YouTube or something.

Corporate CockSnogger 04-25-2013 06:08 AM

Ah right okay. If I ever feel nostalgic for the game in the future I'll probably pick up this version then cause the controls were a bit horrific at times.

#BROKEN Hasney 04-25-2013 07:15 AM

I will be making myself one of these tomorrow fo' sheezy

This recipe serves 8.
What you will need: Balls.
Ingredients:
A Loaf of White Crustless Bread
2 Turkey Breasts
A Jar of High Quality Strawberry Jam or Conserve
Cereal - I chose a Nestlé Pick-A-Pack (Cheerios, Nesquik, Honey Shreddies, Cookie Crisp, Honey Cheerios and Shreddies)
Butter or Margarine
Making the Sandwich:
I bought my turkey breast fresh and cooked it slowly in the oven with a little butter - but feel free to use pre-cooked chunks, not processed slices.
Get two pieces of bread; spread a little butter on one and the strawberry conserve liberally on the other.
Cut the turkey breast into medium slices at an angle and lay the pieces onto the buttered piece of bread.
Pick a cereal of your choice and sprinkle generously over the conserve.
Place the second piece of bread strawberry side down on top and cut the sandwich diagonally to serve.

VSG 07-18-2013 08:29 AM

Sure, why not? Seems like a stupid game though.

Corporate CockSnogger 07-18-2013 08:39 AM

It's a stupidly amazing game.

If it makes it to Steam, I can pick it up in a Steam Sale. Consider it voted for.

Kane Knight 07-19-2013 12:24 AM

Hey Hasney, this doesn't merit another thread and apparently bringing things up via PM is "bad" or something, so let me just ask your thoughts on the folks behind DP being involved in Drakengard 3.

Considering how screwed up the first game was (don't know about the second), I'm kind of wondering if this may end up being some sort of cult game right down your alley.

Alternatively, it may be total shit, but someone made the link for me the other day and then this thread got bumped.

#BROKEN Hasney 07-19-2013 05:20 AM

I never played the second one either, but the first one was ace even if it confused the fuck out of me at the time. Having just looked up the story on Wiki, it's no wonder I was confused since they just ripped out the incest and the pedo for the English version and the girl who killed herself in the game did so because of the incest instead of just randomly.

I'll keep my eye on it. Access Games have done a lot of wank and it's only Swerys mind that saved Deadly Premonition from mediocrity and he's not involved in 3. Still glad they're making a new one at all though.

El Vaquero de Infierno 07-21-2013 09:11 AM

I just looked at this on Amazon and some of the reviewers state that it suffers from terrible lagging, and I was wondering if this was the case?

Didn't know he wasn't involved.
