Who is 40-years old and older and working for WWE as an on-air talent?
I'm an old-school fan and I don't watch much WWE these days. I stopped watching it on a regular basis back in 2003, but I still watch it sometimes, and I'm glad to see there are still some old-school guys from my era that are still in WWE - Triple H, The Undertaker, The Rock, Jerry Lawler, Booker T, Kane, Michael Cole, The Big Show, and I think that's about it. (I saw on YouTube Kevin Nash had a short-lived run, and I wish I could have seen it. I'm also glad WWE is educating the new-school fans about the older wrestlers so if an older wrestler ever comes back for a cameo, new fans will know who he is.)
So are there any other older on-air talent or did I name them all? |
Jericho is 40 now surely.

Mark Henry
Jericho R-Truth William Regal is a commentator and occasional wrestler on NXT Goldust was rumoured to have a little feud with Cody Rhodes a while back. Other guys who aren't 40 but who you'll have watched back then - Christian, Rey Mysterio |
Wow, I can't believe I forgot a few of those names. Mark Henry has been impressing me lately since watching Raw again. I've read before he's a prick in real life, so that increases his heel-like status, and yeah, I use to watch Y2J, Christian, Rey, etc. It's a shame Edge retired. He was a good one, and was way too young to retire. William Regal was another favorite as was Goldust, and I know Roddy Piper shows up sometimes. Never saw R-Truth.
I sometimes wonder if I did the right thing by retiring as a fan in 2003 since there were still quite a few older wrestlers that were around, but things just became too predictable. Now the WWE has mostly just guys that are or around my age or younger, and I see them as peers, and I don't view them in the same God-like status that I'd view someone like Hogan or Undertaker who were always figuratively ten-feet tall through my POV. |
R-Truth used to be known as "K-Kwik" (WWF) and "Ron Killings" (TNA).

I've heard nothing but good things about Mark Henry in real life.

The Great Khali is 40.

Shit, Truth is 40? Did not realize that.
Jerry Lawler is well over forty :shifty: |
X-pac will be 40 this year. Dude was only 20 when he started feuding with Razor Ramon. I wonder how much better he could have been if he kept his nose clean and worked to improve instead of working to get high?
I also can't believe Cena and Rey Mysterio are only 3 years apart in age. It feels like Rey has been around forever. |
Rey is like 13
|
Triple H - 43
Jericho - 42 Rey - 12 going on 38 |
I also think it's kind of funny in hindsight that Hall and Nash were pushing 40 when they signed to WCW and formed the NWO. That period of wrestling was the last time it was truly mainstream. All sorts of athletes and celebrities were wearing the t-shirts or going to the plate with the music and it was started by guys who would have been considered too old to be brought in and pushed like that in today's WWE.

Let's see this year's 40 and over active roster...
Undertaker - 47 William Regal - 44 Goldust - 43 Triple H - 43 Chris Jericho - 42 Mark Henry - 41 R-Truth - 40 Lord Tensai - 40 |
Rock would be 40 if there was to be the rumored WM XXIX rematch in NY between him and Cena next year. I believe Rock's birthday is May 2nd or something around then.

Also Mark Henry is 40, Chris Jericho is 41, Triple H and Goldust are both 42 and Regal is 43. |
Who are you to doubt DLVH?

I knew that R-Truth was quite a bit older than most of the roster and has been in the business for a long time, but it surprises me to find out that he is as old as he is, but still works the style that he does. I guess when you really think about it, he doesn't go that fast, which just goes to show you what a pro the guy is.
Also, to be as old as he is -- with two suspensions to his name, I believe -- and to still be winning championships and occasionally getting main event pushes? Someone must really love the guy. |
