Daniel Bryan and AJ
 

So, I was thinking about the whole Daniel Bryan heel character and I couldn't help but wonder why AJ was in this storyline. IMHO she really doesn't add anything to the story and Daniel Bryan certainly could've achieved the same amount of heat sans her.

What do you think AJ adds to this story?

She's just there to get more people to hate Daniel Bryan.

I just think why not use her in the women's division

They can have her do both. When Daniel Bryan loses the World Title and dumps her ass, people will feel sorry for her and she'll make a great babyface in the Divas Division. Or they could have her "learn" from Daniel Bryan and play a cunning heel in her current matches.

AJ wasn't in Daniel's corner at the house show tonight. What are the odds that they split up? :shifty:

I'm hoping the DB treating AJ like crap thing is all a big hoax.

Get everyone to feel bad for AJ, and instead of turning on DB, she blatantly helps him cheat. Then she wins the Diva's title, and has a very similar "cheap" reign, where she keeps retaining the title, despite fighting like Natalya, and Beth.

The correct answer is: because it is WWE, and they can't concentrate on EVERY division at once!

Besides, AJ is perfect for the role. She does have that naive look to her that makes you feel sorry for her. If they tried this with, say, Natalya, you wouldn't buy it. You'd figure she'd kick his ass and move on.

Plus, how many other Divas on the roster are doing anything that really pretains to their division? Fox is getting squashed by Beth. Tamina is... around. Nattie is farting. The Bellas do stuff. That's 5 (unless it's a "tag-team match, playa" the Bellas count as one girl) women having matches out of... how many on the roster? The others are supplimenting not having shit to do with trying to win the belt from Phoenix with other things to keep them on-camera (Aksana, AJ, Eve, Rosa), or... well... they aren't on-camera!

I think the real correct answer is that WWE doesn't care about women's wrestling and have conditioned a whole generation of fans to not care about women's wrestling.

Booker T was hilarious during AJ's match on Smackdown. Hilarious in the way that he was talking out of his ass again and making no sense, and Cole and Josh were both calling him on it.

If anyone actually proposed that idea they would get laughed out of the arena. Thats too juvenile even for WWE. Also, havent seen Smackdown for a while, whats been going on?

As a big fan of both Daniel Bryan and AJ, I really like this storyline. It's getting Daniel Bryan more heel heat and will get more sympathy for AJ. I see this as a very good thing for AJ. Either she gets fed up with Daniel and costs him the title likely at Wrestlemania, or maybe later on they have a big segment where Daniel just yells at her repeatedly bringing her to tears and the crowd rallies behind her and then she'll be an underdog sympathetic competitor in the Divas division and win the title. That's what I want to see happen more than anything.

However, I also have no problem with her going along with Daniel Bryan duping the fans into feeling sorry for her and then helps Daniel Bryan cheat to win. At the same time, she wins the Divas title in cunning fashion and while she would be a fighting champion, she would use heel tactics to win. I'd love it either way. Anything that gets her in the spotlight more.

Yeah I had no idea what he meant on commentary. First of all, AJ got a clean victory over Nikki Bella. I didn't understand how Booker didn't see it as a victory. Big fan of Booker T, but those comments made zero sense. The commentary in general is really terrible right now. The best commentary team in in FCW: Jim Ross and William Regal.

I'm actually liking Daniel Bryan right now. He's a much better heel than a face. Speaking of face AJ has that kinda face you just wanna smack with yo dick

AJ and Naomi should be wrestling on WWE right now. I'm not sure if they can engage a crowd, but they can go in the ring. AJ was a heel in FCW and played the role well. Naomi is very athletic and can do some real cool stuff in the ring.

I would put those two up with Beth and Nattie... Eve and Tamina possibly as well, but they all need time to develop...

The better question is why for the last two years has the Smackdown Title match needed throwaways added to the mix to generate story and heat?

It's because as Cole said about Bryan and AJ, These 2 are nerds who deserve each other. :P

I think it helps his character immensely. It looks like they are going in the direction of Macho man and Elizabeth. I hope they continue with it but don't push it over the edge like they do with every other valet angle. She has to stay with him for a long time to grow the heat.

I see no reason to split up AJ and Bryan any time soon.

I want to see AJ turn heel by sleeping with all the other guys behind his back. Like Bryan is prepping for a match with like Big Show and AJ says she has to be "right back" and later Big Show is shown walking out of his room, zipping up his pants as Bryan stands backstage asking where AJ is and then AJ runs up to him all sweaty with her hair messed up and Bryan is like "What were you up to?" and AJ is like "I was exercising for the match".

She can do this every week

That angle will be = ratings.

Daniel Bryan is boring as all hell and a terrible character so the WWE is just throwing shit at a wall and hoping something stick.
