Idea for a gimmick (would this be offensive?)
 

A new wrestler debuts as Corporal Johnson. The story is that he is a soldier who served in all of the wars (Iraq/Afghanistan) but was released from the army for being injured and going crazy with PTSD. He debuts in the WWE and immediately goes after all the "foreign" wrestlers and debuts as a totally paranoid guy who LOVES USA but is a huge asshole.

It would be interesting because how would the fans react?

On one hand he is a soldier/hero and loves America.
On the other, he acts like an asshole and attacks all non american wrestlers, even if they are faces.

Or would this be too offensive?

it would probably gain success in The South, revealing how xenophobic the majority of America is...... wouldn't be good for WWE's image in a PG-13 world, thus it won't and probably shouldn't happen.....

It would be better if he only attacked the black wrestlers.

In light of recent events I'd say now definitely wouldn't be the time for that gimmick... if there ever is a time for it... So yes it would be too offensive.

An ex-MMA fighter who goes against the script and attacks everyone, regardless whether they're face or heel, versus an ex-soldier who is crazy and paranoid and attacks everyone, regardless whether they're face or heel.

That kind of "Art Imitates Reality" schtick would never happen in todays WWE. I mean, IRL that is a legit storyline, happens everyday. PSTD Soliders and Marines killing civilians.

Even though it would never happen in WWE... I would like to see this! This would be a crowd-drawing controversy, without a doubt, but it would also bring alot of lawsuits, protests, and sponsorship losses that the execs probably want to avoid. TNA could try it since nothing else is working for them anyways.

Sounds like an even worse opposite version of what the E did with Muhammad Hassan when he debuted.

I think more gray charecters would be excellent. I don't mean that there shouldnt be heels and faces, but bad and good aren't always the only polarizing options. You can use all sorts of ways to polarize the fans. I think this is a pretty fantastic idea.
