Overeem's "A" sample was flagged for an elevated T/E ratio. Kizer said the heavyweight has the right to request the test's "B" sample, which, if negative, would make him eligible to receive a fight license.

Cain should step up and get the fight..

He is prolly in shape already and is scheduled to fight Mir on the same card..

Well, that's disappointing if unsurprising.

I'm extremely curious to see who gets the fight. Krispy mentioned Cain which was my first thought but I doubt it. I think Mir gets bumped up to fight JDS before anyone else.

Apparently his levels were 10:1 versus the acceptable levels of 6:1 according so some ESPN guy on Twitter.

He should have never given up on the horse meat.

I don't think Cain will get it, after how the first fight ended.

Mir would make the most sense.

Not that I wouldn't mind seeing Mir getting KO'ed, but wins over a done Cro Cop, Roy Nelson, and Big Nog doesn't deserve a title shot.. The last times he fought contenders, he was dominated (Carwin and Lesnar)..

Cain destroyed Lesnar for the title and was injured in his only loss, against Dos Santos..

Maybe Josh Barnett might be coming back to the UFC sooner than originally thought..

Yeah but Cain hasn't even been in a fight since he lost. I really think the fight has to go to someone who has strung together some recent wins and other than Mir you have Mark Hunt and I think that's about it.

Barnett has one, maybe two more fights left with Showtime before that can happen. He'd be a great addition but there's always the threat of him pissing dirty again at any time.

Yes, I'm not certain exactly how it works but I think Barnett and Cormier are contractually obligated to Showtime for the SF Grand Prix finals as well as one more fight for the winner. I think. I could just be talking out of my ass.

Well, I had heard that if Barnett did well in the grand prix, Dana would let him come back with open arms..

The UFC held a media conference call today with the Canadian press and UFC President Dana White was put on the spot about today’s revelation that Overeem has failed his random drug test.

Overeem and team still have time to act; the commission can test a second sample taken from Alistair on the same day to see if it yields the same result. However let’s get real, you pee in two cups back to back at the same time, how would it yield a different result?

There is still time on the clock for Overeem to come out and right the wrong, maybe there is a good reason, maybe it was a testing error, or maybe it’s all accurate and Overeem is a user.

He got a title fight with a 1-1 record in the UFC because he was a draw, so what would be different about giving him a title fight with a slightly worse record in which he'd still draw?

The more I read and think about this, the more it pisses me off..

A few years ago, the UFC HW division was by far the weakest division in MMA.. They bring in Cro Cop and he fucking sucks.. They have to bring back a 45+ year old Randy Couture to get rid of Sylvia.. We get Big Nog, but Mir has beat him twice now.. Then we get Lesnar, who ends up getting sick and becoming a HUGE pussy.. Then you have Cain, who is an all around solid fighter, but Dos Santos "dethrones" him, for lack of a better term.. Throw in Carwin and his 3 min fights somewhere in there, but then he exposes his weak gas tank.. Then we get Overeem, who over the past few years, has look unstoppable, failing a drug test, the HW division is back to being weak..

I mean, you still have Cain, Dos Santos, Mir, etc, but are we really looking for Josh Barnett to bring the HW division back??

Seems like truly talented Heavyweight guys are just few and far between. t seems like Middleweight/Light Heavyweight is around the ideal size to be a pro MMA fighter.

Yeah, all this nonsense makes me wish that Jones moves up to HW sooner rather than later.

People are calling for a 8-7 Mark Hunt to get the shot cause of his 3 UFC wins.. I know he just beat Kongo, who had been on a run, bu the only fight I've seen him in, in the UFC, was against Big Ben Rothwell, and it was one of the worst fights I've ever seen.. Rothwell gassed in the second and Hunt gassed trying to put him away..

Yeah, that's our fault. This all started on Bloody Elbow as a shits and giggles thing and is actually blowing up. I dunno exactly how many people from there have tweeted Dana White but I know I signed up for twitter just to take part in the whole thing and there have been a number of fighters that we as a community have gotten on the Mark Hunt bandwagon.

It's crazy. I actually kinda hope he gets it.

Regardless, if you can't do it for the love of Mark Hunt, do it for the social media experiment that it is. This has been an interesting trip that has even landed us on Yahoo. That is really something special and shows that we have made a dent in the proverbial armor of social media. Hopefully Dana is a man of his word and pays attention to the going ons of Twitter and MMA internet communities.

So that leads us to our final question: What can you do to help Mark Hunt? Well, there is a bunch of things you can do! MMA Junkie, Sherdog, and Bloody Elbow do radio shows today and calling in to explain the #RallyForMarkHunt trend and explain why you support the cause.

Make Twitter your bitch with the hashtag #RallyForMarkHunt! And try to include Dana's and Lorenzo's Twitter handles in your tweets.
