Should I go to a local wrestling show?

Quite funny really, somebody has promoted a wrestling show at my website's message boards (which isn't conencted to wrestling in any way). I didn't know if there were any wrestling promotions that actually put on live shows in Sunderland (my local area), this guy has helped me answer the question.

3 Count Wrestling are proud to present a wrestling supercard on Sunday 23rd May and it will be a huge night of British Wrestling.

It will feature Johnny Storm who is has wrestled in in promotions such as Ring of Honor, NWA-Total Non Stop Action and Combat Zone Wrestling from the U.S. as well as Britains own Frontier Wrestling Alliance and has featured on Sky's The Wrestling Channell heavily.

Other wrestlers who have been on The Wrestling Channel appearing on the show are Damon Leigh and Joey Haynes.

And of course there will be the 3 Count Wrestling regulars such as "Gangster" Ben Harland, former 3CW heavyweight champion Ice XVII and Jayson Mayson "Pop Sensation".

The show will be happening at the Sandhill Centre on Grindon Lane.

Doors open at 6pm and it will cost £7 Pounds for Adults and £5 for OAPs/Children

For more information visit the official 3CW website at www.3cw.co.uk or email tickets@3cw.co.uk for more details.

It would be great to see you there and if you are a wrestling fan this is surely something not to be missed!
The Jonny Storm appearance is the bit that I'm interested in, that guy rocks. Do you think I should go, I'd have to convince some of my mates though cos I'm not going alone :shifty:

Savio 05-05-2004 06:32 PM

It might be fun go. Hit some one with a chair then say "I want your title!".

Disturbed316 05-05-2004 06:55 PM

The Mackem 05-05-2004 06:56 PM

It might be hard convincing friends not to go to the pub, depending on how long the show lasts :(

Stickman 05-05-2004 07:15 PM

Why would you ask a forum about what you should do? Have a mind of your own.

The Mackem 05-05-2004 07:20 PM

That will never work. Mind of my own..pfft.

Ferocious 05-06-2004 07:03 AM

You know Sunderland aint that far from me I might go.

Dave Youell 05-06-2004 07:06 AM

Out of that entire line up, i've only heard of Johnny,

Then again nobody really knows me but we get 300-500 people per show, meh.

I say go

I think these guys are based in the Middlesbrough area, I think Stockton is more accurate not entirely sure.

I didn't realise there was so many feds in the North East. There's WZW, IWF and 3CW. I don't think any of them are Sunderland based and apparently WZW had D lo Brown appear at one of their shows in Whitley Bay last month.

big_bluto 05-06-2004 10:02 AM

Anybody know of any wrestling events in Scotland?

Shaggy 05-06-2004 10:16 AM

yea you should just go. I went to a small promotion that was hear in houston and it turned out to be good. Now I go every month.

I live in the middle of Middlesbrough and Stockton and the last time anyone did an event down here was that long ago I think I was about 13.

One time a few townies decided to hold an event in their garden..........needless to say it blew. although the innapropriate, untrained use of a glass light tube was kinda funny when it took 8 shots to the back before it broke.

have a look around 3CW's website, there's bound to be some wrestling events around there sooner or later, I'm pretty sure their wrestling school is located there.

Ian 05-06-2004 03:19 PM

Come down yer, there are quite a few CSF shows.

Lamuella 05-06-2004 03:32 PM

go. You might love it, and go again. You might hate it, and have wasted 7 quid. The worlst you'll be out is one night, and it's frankly important to support local feds. The WWE stars of tomorrow have to come from somewhere.

Actually no :( (There goes my Meltzer rep)

To be honest, I never hear about them and I don't really keep up with the UK scene. I'll go if I hear about a show in enough time but most of the time I don't go since my friends either hate wrestling or just like WWE.

The Ravishing One 05-06-2004 07:46 PM

Its good to support local feds imo :y:

The Mackem 05-06-2004 08:07 PM

I was telling one of my amtes about it who watches WWE na dI've even told him about the Wrestling Channel but he's only really watched TNA becaus eof the people he recognises and I think he'll go. One of the other mates who would probably go is in Aberdeen all week so I'll pop the question to him soon
