Top 3 punches

Punching is very essential to a worker's repertoire I think. If you don't have a good believable punch it really ruins the flow of a match.

You can list current guys or oldschool guys. For me it's Shawn Michaels, Terry Funk and Bret Hart. Honorable mentions for Scott Hall.

I'd imagine a lot of you will list newer guys and I'm interested to see whose punches you all like?

-EDIT- What do you all think goes into good punches?

Gertner 04-08-2012 02:30 PM

Bobby Eaton and CW Anderson

CSL 04-08-2012 02:34 PM

def. the 4 guys in the o.p (especially Hall and Bret), Triple H, Lawler, Jake Roberts, Sting

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-08-2012 02:35 PM

Yeah forgot about Jakes, awesome awesome punches.

Corporate CockSnogger 04-08-2012 02:37 PM

Stone Cold's punches are the default punches anybody my age use to pretend to throw in school.

CSL 04-08-2012 02:37 PM

Taker, Road Dogg

Big Show has some nice ones. I always liked Jake Roberts little snap jabs, too.

You know who has really shitty punches? RVD.

Gertner 04-08-2012 02:40 PM

Bret Hart's punches were boring and over-rated...just like Bret

Anybody Thrilla 04-08-2012 02:41 PM

Gertner, I oughta stomp your dick.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-08-2012 02:44 PM

RVD's punches were AWFUL. Also, Savage's punches were wicked.

CSL 04-08-2012 02:46 PM

yeahhhhh def. Savage

whiteyford 04-08-2012 02:46 PM

Did RVD actually throw punches? All i can remember are the fore arm shots he threw.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-08-2012 02:48 PM

It's hard to say for me. I'm not expecting mma punches, but somehow they need to look tight and it's nice when they look like they actually damage the guy similar to an atomic drop, and not just "filler" punches because they can't think of anything to do. They need to have some menace behind them.

some type of shitty hybrid. Either way they sucked.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-08-2012 02:50 PM

I love HBK's "pop" he puts in on his punches. Like so perfectly timed it is ridiculous. looks like he's straight decking the dude in the chin, and it smacks so nicely.

Rammsteinmad 04-08-2012 03:26 PM

Bret Hart, Scott Hall and Kurt Angle.

Wake Up Call 04-08-2012 03:31 PM

John Cena

MoFo 04-08-2012 03:36 PM

Vader
Bradshaw?

Maybe Regal too.

Good call on Angle. I was just watching Angle/Michaels from Vengeance like two and a half hours ago, and his whole offense just looked brutal as fuck. Good stuff.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-08-2012 03:52 PM

Angle's are nice but for some reason they always reminded me of Stone Cold's. I've always liked Austin's punches but I don't know if they're the best, but they were damned good. What I liked about his punches is he sort of punched exactly how you would imagine he would, just wild brawling haymakers.

Gertner 04-08-2012 03:58 PM

Mark Jindrak had a great punch

Nicky Fives 04-08-2012 04:00 PM

Scott Hall, Kurt Angle, Stone Cold..... in that order.....

Gertner 04-08-2012 04:02 PM

Anyways.

My order is

1. Bobby Eaton
2. Scott Hall
3. Mark Jindrak

Waylander 04-08-2012 04:09 PM

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Undertaker yet. His are pretty great.

Have always liked Taker's big overhand rights, or "soupbonez", as Tazz called them. Kurt Angle, Bret Hart, and Benoit's forearm shots were also my faves.

I thought all Canadians worshipped Bret Hart? How dare you besmirch his greasy headed greatness!

Shisen Kopf 04-08-2012 04:22 PM

My 3 punchers are

Ken Shamrock
The Rock
Don "the rock" Muraco

It's a proven fact that if you have the word rock in your name or rasslin name you have a punch that is 64% better than regular rasslers. My source for this is the international commission for serious business in pro rasslin.

blak23 04-08-2012 04:24 PM

Taker definitely. I really like Sheamus

Gertner 04-08-2012 04:25 PM

How about Rock and Roll Buck Zumhoff. That's some serious wrasslin right there.

Joe Kerr 04-08-2012 04:35 PM

William Regal

Damian Rey 04-08-2012 04:36 PM

Triple H gets a nod from me as well, as does Austin

For me, a good punch has to give me the feeling that whoever is throwing it is reallyrocking back and firing away, and looks like they are really tagging their opponent. Angle and Bret's look quick and stiff, while Taker looks like he is unloading and Benoit's looked vicious.

Joe Kerr 04-08-2012 04:38 PM

Ric Flair

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-08-2012 04:41 PM

Undertaker's are inconsistent. Sometimes they look great, sometimes sloppy.

Indifferent Clox 04-08-2012 04:43 PM

Lawler, taker, sawa

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-08-2012 04:48 PM

Yeah Lawler does have badass punches to this day. The crowd reacts to them like they're legit offense.

Jordan 04-08-2012 04:53 PM

1. Taker, as Cole says he's the best striker in WWE.

2. Flair, love it when he'd get a guy in a headlock and just hammer on the head.

3. For some controversy, Big Show's WMD. Very, very well done.

Worst of all time ...

Foley, Hogan, and The Rock.
