(TMZ) — NFL legend Junior Seau was found dead in his home in Oceanside, CA … and cops are investigating a shooting … multiple law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
Cops are currently at Seau’s home just outside San Diego. Seau was 43-years-old … and leaves behind 3 kids and an ex-wife.
Was reading reports about a shooting being investigated near his home then as I refreshed, the reports started coming in that he was the one shot and killed. Crazy.

May have been suicide.

Keith 05-02-2012 02:48 PM

So very sad. It's strange how ESPN has made no mention of this yet. You'd think they'd know about this before all of us.

#1-norm-fan 05-02-2012 02:50 PM

Most of the news of his death I'm seeing is still like 20-25 minutes old. I don't know. Maybe they wanna get all the info.

Keith 05-02-2012 02:53 PM

They're too busy talking and talking about the Saints bounty scandal.

You'd think they'd at least make mention of him being dead. Hope he's not getting the "Chris Benoit treatment".

#1-norm-fan 05-02-2012 02:58 PM

As long as he didn't murder anyone, they wouldn't do that.

#1-norm-fan 05-02-2012 02:59 PM

Even if he did, they wouldn't. They're reporting news. But still... suicide wouldn't = Benoit treatment in any situation.

Crimson 05-02-2012 03:03 PM

They're trying to confirm ..they just mentioned that police were walking in and out of his home.

Keith 05-02-2012 03:05 PM

If this is true, it goes to show that you can have fame and money, and still depression can get to you.

#1-norm-fan 05-02-2012 03:11 PM

Apparently he shot himself in the chest. Same way Dave Duerson did last year so that his brain could be researched. Could be another CTE situation...

well you can have all that fame and money but if you cant control your body or live a normal life then whats the point

Krimzon7 05-02-2012 03:25 PM

I just get the feeling that he may have found out that he had early onset dementia or that he was starting to lose his grasp. I am not trolling, but after 21 years of pro ball, of which he was one of the most feared tacklers for more than 13...I figured he was a time bomb. Polamalu is another one I worry about.

Reavant 05-02-2012 03:30 PM

I imagine he started feeling the same if not worse symptoms of what McMahon from the 85 Bears is feeling. If you have not seen the news documentaries on him its scary... especially because he wasnt even giving the hits every play... just getting cracked on pass plays

Nicky Fives 05-02-2012 03:55 PM

confirmed as suicide.....

Emperor Smeat 05-02-2012 04:22 PM

RIP Seau

Probably one of the greatest players during his era to never win a ring and at his position.

ClockShot 05-02-2012 04:34 PM

Caught this on my phone this afternoon. Didn't hear it was suicide until I got home just now.

R.I.P.

oh my Lord...I need to check this out. I am going to hunt it down.

Reading an article on NFL.com... Junior Seau is the 8th member of the 1994 San Diego Chargers Super Bowl team to die before the age of 45 now. Wow.

• David Griggs, LB: Died in a car accident in 1995. Age 28.

• Rodney Culver, RB: Died in a plane crash on May 11, 1996. The crash of ValuJet Flight 592 killed all 110 people aboard, including Culver's wife. Age 26.

• Doug Miller, LB: Died as the result of a lightning strike in 1998. Age 28.

• Curtis Whitley, C: Died of a drug overdose on May 11, 2008. Age 39.

• Chris Mims, DE: Died of an enlarged heart on Oct. 15, 2008. Age 38.

• Shawn Lee, DT: Died from cardiac arrest on Feb. 26, 2011. Age 44.

• Lew Bush, LB: Died of a heart attack on Dec. 8, 2011. Age 42.

Crimson 05-02-2012 05:24 PM

Yeah that's crazy. Apparently Miller got struck twice by lighting

Evil Vito 05-02-2012 05:40 PM

Wow, this is horrible. R.I.P

Gertner 05-02-2012 07:34 PM

Does God get credit for this sack?

SlickyTrickyDamon 05-03-2012 01:07 AM

Seriously Gertner? Go fuck yourself. A man is dead. Have a little bit of decency.

RoXer 05-03-2012 01:11 AM

Gertner, a better joke would be asking if we should start a Junior Seance to learn the reasons why he killed himself.

Your joke is just fucking dumb

Wonder how soon this is going to get "Madden Cover Curse" type urban legending?

You're asking too much here. Ignore button for KOTF 2012

YOUR Hero 05-03-2012 10:41 AM

When I heard the news, I immediaely thought about depression. Much like what happened in Hockey's off season a year with 3 suicides.

Don't have it, but check what Emmitt Smith tweeted

Shisen Kopf 05-06-2012 11:36 PM

Junior Seau's mom is hot.
