What kind of wrestling do you like?

I haven't really posted in these parts regularly for some time, so I would like to get a feel for what all these new posters and muties like to watch.

Do you like WWE's sports entertainment style? Ring of Honor's whatever they are style? New Japan's strong style? Chikara's kid friendly psuedo comedy lucha style? TNA's clusterfuck style?

I would also like to see Gertner and St. Jimmy get into a slap fight.

Maybe I will make this poll. I haven't made a poll in like 5 years tho, so I don't remember how.

Might make a poll about something in casual if it is successful.

Might go on a "poll frenzy" as a spinning newspaper might call it.

anyway

Keith 05-03-2012 10:46 PM

WWE all the way. It's the only wrestling I watch, except for some Thursdays here and there where flipping channels I come across TNA and will watch a little bit.

But definitely WWE.

James Steele 05-03-2012 10:48 PM

I guess "WWE style" since I have a hard time just watching a match for the hell of it, and I can't stand matches that have no psychology, emotion, or story. I'll watch amateur wrestling or gymnastics if I want to see pure technical wrestling or triple backflips for the hell of it.

Fignuts 05-03-2012 10:53 PM

Well, that was easy.

Let the frenzy begin.

Also, poll is multiple choice.

Fignuts 05-03-2012 10:55 PM

Forgot Dragon Gate we are failed trapeze artists style

Keith 05-03-2012 10:58 PM

Like James Steele pointed out, I prefer the WWE wrestling because behind every match (or most of them) there's a story (well developed, generally), it gets you involved in the whole thing and while you watch the subsequent match (or matches), you have that story in your mind and it makes that match all the more enjoyable.

It's not like two dudes show up and just beat the living fuck out of each other and you don't even know why because there was no real build-up, or a clusterfuck of a storyline where you're like "So why are they fighting, again?"

Supreme Olajuwon 05-03-2012 11:35 PM

I enjoy all types of pretend fisticuffs. I even clicked TNA because it's a shittier version of WCW style, and boy did I love me some WCW style :'(

Shisen Kopf 05-03-2012 11:36 PM

Where's the southern rasslin option? Thats the best after a Bushwhackers match.

XCaliber 05-03-2012 11:46 PM

I love Double Double E!

Orton and Barrett?

Fignuts 05-04-2012 12:29 AM

Damn, forgot Old School an armdrag is a deadly finisher style, as well.

Emperor Smeat 05-04-2012 01:11 AM

Favor a mix of styles but based on the list, WWE style.

Would WCW count as a separate style or as part of the WWE style since it did have a lot more high flying with the cruiserwieghts than WWE had?

Fignuts 05-04-2012 03:54 AM

Yeah, it was still mostly sports entertainment.

Rammsteinmad 05-04-2012 05:32 AM

WWE Style.

Though I do watch a lot of Indy stuff, and I love Chikara. The matches have no psychology, and the comedy spots are ridiculous, but it's fucking hilarious! It's entertaining to me, so I can disregard belief for a few minutes and enjoy invisible grenades, wrestling tights that control the wrestler and hpnotizing snakes.

Skippord 05-04-2012 07:12 AM

WWE style, I also clicked Chikara and ROH though because I did not want to lose street cred

#BROKEN Hasney 05-04-2012 07:31 AM

Sorry, you lose cred and gain 100lbs for picking ROH.

bigslimjj 05-04-2012 08:30 AM

As far as the wrestling itself I have to put TNA number one overall. When they just wrestle its usually very entertaining. I've never seen better house show matches then when I attended their event. It's that good old storyline thing that takes away from it. There are far more classic matches in WWE because they do have the better build ups, which I think bring more to the match in general. Michaels vs. Undertaker 1 wouldn't have been as classic of a match without the thought that Taker was gonna lose, and the overall storyline. TNA misses out on that aspect but the wrestling style is better IMO.

THAT WON'T GO WITH MY BODY TYPE AT ALL!!!!!!!!

Kapoutman 05-04-2012 11:51 AM

WWE style. It's the only watch consistently. I enjoy the other styles too, but not enough to go out of my way to catch a show.

Rammsteinmad 05-04-2012 11:56 AM

Wasn't on the list, but I love the old-school World of Sport style by the lightweights too. Guys like Robbie Brookside, Johnny Saint, Steve Grey, Steve Regal etc.

Sepholio 05-04-2012 12:06 PM

WWE and NJPW by far. Also clicked FMW just because the description made it sound extra awesome .

Gertner 05-04-2012 03:03 PM

WWE by far

PrettyCool 05-04-2012 03:16 PM

I like WCW/TNA WTF IS GOING ON OMG ITS A SHOOT type of wrestling!

XL 05-05-2012 06:59 AM

WWE. Always has been.

Was never into WCW and whilst I watch TNA weekly and ROH from time to time I find that I will always turn the latter 2 off to watch WWE should one of their shows be available. I'll watch Raw/SmackDown/PPVs as soon as possible, where as TNA can often wait.

Dunno what it is, the storylines, the wrestlers, the production values.

SlickyTrickyDamon 05-05-2012 07:38 AM

What about ECW Style: Play New Jacks music and let fly with legal assault style?

FourFifty 05-05-2012 04:37 PM

A little bit of everything. If we watch Dean Malenko vs William Regal night after night we're going to get bored with the their styles. If the card was just El Generico vs Rey Mysterio we'd get sick of seeing high flyers. New Jack vs Terry Funk would lose its edge, and HBK vs RVD would get lame. I just like a little of everything.... except FMW/CZW/Backyard trash.

RiX1024 05-05-2012 05:00 PM

WWE style coz it's more story based plenty of psychology. ROH coz it's wrestling and Chikara coz it's funny.

St. Jimmy 05-05-2012 10:13 PM

I like WWE when they have some interesting booking, mostly I enjoy ROH, PWG, NOAH, NJPW and some Dragon Gate USA

Attitude99 05-06-2012 03:13 PM

bump for people who weren't here, and losers who didn't participate the first time.

Juan 08-23-2015 02:35 AM

I like good old boring technical/chain wrestling with some good psychology/story telling mixed in. 9 times out of 10, I could care less if a guy is good on the mic or has a "good gimmick" as long as the wrestling is good. Unfortunately, I mostly watch WWE, so that's about 1-2 "good" matches a week.

Simple Fan 08-23-2015 12:32 PM

Obviously I watch WWE because they are the meca of wrestling and the production is top notch. TNA has good talent and guys get a chance in TNA to do what they couldn't in WWE. They put on great matches and the Knockouts division is the best womens division in wrestling. ROH is very entertaining and fast paced matches that I enjoy as an alternative to the WWE. NJPW is real good as well, I enjoy the strong style and they have Bullet Club. Lucha Undergrounds first season was pretty good hope they get a season 2.

Bobholly138 08-28-2015 04:38 AM

I like what use to be called "The southern style". Mix that with a bit of lucha libre and you got the perfect style of wrestling for me.

Theo Dious 08-30-2015 08:04 PM

We need more polls with Loose Cannon options.
