What games would you most like to see made into a movie?

Bioshock, Red Dead Redemption, Assassins Creed I think would turn out marvelous.

Eklipse 05-07-2012 01:35 PM

Super Mario Brothers...

Drakul 05-07-2012 01:37 PM

F-Zero. Watching Speed Racer in the cinema, I thought it looked a lot like F-Zero in the racing scenes. I never watched the anime but I thought Speed Racer drove around mountains and through deserts, not in neon lit hovering courses with corkscrews and loops etc.

Metroid.

Super Mario Bros if it was totally CGI.

Maniac Mansion if it was done as a comedy/horror that poked fun at 80's horror and B-Movies.

Zombies Ate My Neighbours as a slightly more child friendly alternative to MM. Focusing more on the 90's.

I'll probably think of more later.

Kalyx triaD 05-07-2012 01:53 PM

The Legend of Zelda, written and directed by me.
Castlevania
Halo
Guitar Hero, written by me.
Soul Calibur, written by me.

PrettyCool 05-07-2012 02:01 PM

Call Of Duty : Modern Warfare 3.

Tetris.

Bayonetta     :naughty: :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

That is the one game I would genuinely getting annoyed about seeing a film of.

Kalyx triaD 05-07-2012 02:09 PM

Sorry to hear that, but I think there's a trilogy there.

Drakul 05-07-2012 02:12 PM

If they felt brave enough they could pull a "Wall-E" and have the film pretty much speechless. Relying on expressions, actions and music to tell the story.

Otherwise I'd be brought to tears when I heard Link speak like a kid from the OC or like Prince William.

Pretty much.

Most games I like generally I'd be cautious about a film of. I've not really enjoyed most of Hollywood's output for about 5 years.

Kalyx triaD 05-07-2012 02:14 PM

Link himself could be mute. Zelda would have to talk.

Drakul 05-07-2012 02:20 PM

My big issue is accents. I just know they'd give a "Royal family" accent to all the characters purely because it involves princess', swords and sheilds.
If they didn't do that, the only alternative Hollywood seems to see is to have everyone use an American accent.

Looking at the influences through out the series, a lot of what we see in the games is taken from Celtic myth more than anything.
I had a small site where I was trying to catalogue these things a few years ago. Celtic, particularly Scottish, pretty much ran away with it when it came to influences. From music to enemies, even certain characters or their outfits.

I know they'd never do a Scottish or even Irish accented Zelda film.

LoDownM 05-07-2012 02:23 PM

None.

Ermaximus 05-07-2012 02:29 PM

Mass Effect
Jet Force Gemini
Starcraft
No More Heroes

Kapoutman 05-07-2012 02:38 PM

No More Heroes could work.

Drakul 05-07-2012 02:43 PM

I heard they were going to make a film of The Sims. No idea how they can make it specifically about The Sims unless everyone speaks giberish and doors magically vanish, killing the main characters.

Ermaximus 05-07-2012 02:55 PM

Not to mention random blurred out nude scenes.

Extreme Angle 05-07-2012 03:09 PM

Elder Scrolls.

irishmaster 05-07-2012 03:43 PM

I always wanted a Zelda film. Would be feckin immense

Sims could be a horror movie where one guy suddenly realizes that he is not hallucinating, and that things do vanish without him wanting to. He goes to swim but the ladder disappears from the pool. Door vanish. There's also this problem where his wife goes to work but he does not know where. He follows her one day to notice that she just disappears into a void when they reach the end of the street. Someone is out to get him, but WHO?

Then at the end he realizes someone out there is controlling his life. The movie ends when his wife leaves him cause he neglected her, so he tries cooking himself a meal for the first time in his life. The oven bursts into flames because he did not have the skill points necessary, and he dies in a fire.

El Fangel 05-07-2012 03:59 PM

Just found out Bioshock may be in the works.

Sepholio 05-07-2012 04:10 PM

Red Dead would be awesome.

I also think Metroid and Castlevania could have potential.

I'd sex a chicken if it got me a big-budget Chrono Trigger movie trilogy, though.

El Fangel 05-07-2012 04:16 PM

bawk bawk bawk.

Emperor Smeat 05-07-2012 04:58 PM

Half-Life

ClockShot 05-07-2012 06:20 PM

Whatever Uwe Boll hasn't made into a movie yet.

:shifty:

Requiem 05-07-2012 07:51 PM

Read Dead would be pretty sweet. Would love if there were more westerns made today. It could be pretty intense.

El Fangel 05-07-2012 07:53 PM

Has there been a decent western made in the last 20 years?

Requiem 05-07-2012 08:04 PM

3:10 to Yuma was decent
True Grit was alright.

Tombstone is fucking awesome and it was 1993.

Requiem 05-07-2012 08:06 PM

The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, which I personally loved, although it is not a 'traditional' western really.

Seth82 05-07-2012 08:25 PM

would love to see the Call of Duty games made into a movie series

CSL 05-07-2012 08:32 PM

Max Payne :'(

Ill have a look at this asap. Also Tombstone barely makes the 20 year cut.

I started this game because of you. Forgot about it til now.

Requiem 05-07-2012 09:28 PM

TAOJJBTCRF is as long as the name, and kind of slow. Fucking beautiful movie though. Casey Affleck is intensely amazing.

El Fangel 05-07-2012 09:48 PM

Tombstone is near three hours, so is Scarface. I find most movies that are 2.5+ hours are well done actually.

dronepool 05-07-2012 10:14 PM

Metal Gear Solid.
Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver.

XCaliber 05-07-2012 10:17 PM

Uncharted
Bioshock
Deus Ex

stultiloquy 05-07-2012 10:18 PM

Definitely the Legacy of Kain series.
That aside, I think Enslaved has potential, as does Vanquish.

Fignuts 05-07-2012 10:21 PM

Metroid

The whole "speechless" idea would suit it far better than Zelda.
