Fall From Grace: The Miz

Ever since his last pay-per-view main event participation at TLC, The Miz is slowly and steadily stepping out of the spotlight, not necessarily on his own.

The dirt sheets report that the management is blaming him for the low buy rates of Survivor Series. It has also been noticed that The Miz has not been himself for a while. He is botching his lines and losing on a very regular basis.

But on the other hand, The Miz kept his undefeated streak iat Wrestlemania alive when he pinned Zack Ryder in the 12-man tag team match. He also went on to defeat his former protege Alex Riley in a very decent match on Superstars.

The dirt sheets are also reporting that The Miz is going to star in third installment of The Marine. Which does not necessarily mean that he will get a big ass push and win all the Heavyweight straps that are there to offer.

Nonetheless, the negatives are more in number when compared to the positives. It seems like things are not going to change for The Miz (for a while). And for some reason that makes me sad.

Feel free to discuss about The Miz's "fall from grace".

Innovator 05-08-2012 03:43 PM

Pretty much after Maryse was on camera saying, "your loss Vince," Miz has been going down. Then he got blamed for the Survivor Series buyrate (not WWE's fault at all for not giving a reason why Cena and Rock were teaming, or building Miz and Truth as worthy opponents). Then he almost killed Truth.

PrettyCool 05-08-2012 03:50 PM

The Miz should become a more violent character and go on a violent spree, injuring and busting people open!

Shadrick 05-08-2012 03:56 PM

Change his name to "The Miz: Badass Submission Machine" and instead of "Yes" say "REALLY. REALLY. REALLY????"

Rammsteinmad 05-08-2012 03:56 PM

Yeah, felt really sad when he came out on Raw, because I'd honestly forgotten about him.

To think, last year him and R-Truth were running rampant for a little while and really had the WWE 'fired up' and on guard for a time. The guy has proven to be a hard worker, in the ring, on the mic and when it comes to promotional stuff. I really hope WWE don't drop the ball with him, especially considering all the stuff he had to endure for being the reality TV guy. The guy went from being resented in the lockeroom, to headlining Wrestlemania, and legitimately deserving it. Guy's a fighter, and definitely someone the WWE would be silly to let him fizzle out into nothing.

Lock Jaw 05-08-2012 03:59 PM

Dude needs to go to Smackdown, because he has been pretty much "run into the ground" on RAW.

Sad thing is, I thought he was due for some sort of push after getting the win for Team Johnny.

Really thought he would be next in line for CM Punk to take on. Kind of reestablish him as a main event player.

Instead he is losing to Santino and Brodus Clay. Floundering.

Saw this for the first time. Makes sense by WWE logic.

Ultra Mantis 05-08-2012 04:05 PM

Miz got Swaggered, right down to jobbing to Santino & Brodus. I do prefer the original lower midcard World Champion though to be honest, never really been on the Miz bandwagon.

Tornado 05-08-2012 04:06 PM

The Rock's in ring return, at MSG draws a shitty buy rate?

Yeah let's blame The Miz.

I really enjoy The Miz's character and performances and hate to see someone who could be a major player in a rut like this. The guy busted his ass late 2011 flying all over the world to promote local tours, deserves better.

Keith 05-08-2012 04:21 PM

The thing about Miz is that, to me, his character and the character Jericho played before he left last time (the serious, "you all are hypocrites" gimmick) are way too similar. When you see Miz come out for a promo and act all serious, all calculated, in a suit, he's too much like that Jericho we saw. His in-ring gear is even similar to Y2J's.

Anybody Thrilla 05-08-2012 04:29 PM

The Miz should take the "REALLY?" thing to the next level. Just walk around being absolutely appalled at some of the things happening in WWE and actively voicing his disgust. Random attacks during Santino matches, attacking Brodus Clay during his entrance, etc. He showed a BIT of that in his Brodus Clay promo last night, but he could make it so much more.

James Steele 05-08-2012 04:30 PM

I think WWE just finally realized he wasn't that fucking good and he couldn't maintain his overness once his "run" was over.

Keith 05-08-2012 04:31 PM

I don't really think he's had this bad streak because of Maryse. I don't think WWE would do that to a guy who's that good in the ring and (perhaps more importantly) on the mic.

We do know Triple H is more "in control" now, so maybe he just sees something in Miz he doesn't like.

I hear Triple H is a huge supporter of The Miz :shifty:

Keith 05-08-2012 04:33 PM

Where do you "hear" this? Who tells you?

PrettyCool 05-08-2012 04:35 PM

I still cant believe WWE got rid of he hottest diva in their history.

Keith 05-08-2012 04:36 PM

I remember reading somewhere that Triple H cut a promo on the Miz backstage in front of some talent for something I can't even remmeber.

they did it to morrison..granted he was a huge ass hat on the mic, but thanks to melina he was basically run into the ground

Keith 05-08-2012 04:41 PM

Well yeah, but he was never WWE Champion, he never main evented WrestleMania, etc. But who knows? All we do is speculate.

I think it was for the Truth incident.

Emperor Smeat 05-08-2012 04:42 PM

I think part of it might be related to the concussion he got during last year's Mania because for a long while after that he seemed very reluctant to be involved in any high flying moves such as his last botch with R-Truth.

Probably also related to how last year the WWE kept rushing or changing their plans for the first couple of months after Mania and it impacted him the most. Del Rio had his reigns rushed, Cena had quick reigns since the WWE wasn't sure if they wanted him to hold the belt till the next Mania, and the rise of Punk meant a lot less main event time for the Miz.

Me either!

To be fair, though, Sunny had a LOT of problems...

I meant Maryse, Sunny looks homely compared to Maryse's PERFECTION.

We forget, but Miz's WWE Championship run wasn't exactly historic. I mean, even had a feud with Jerry Lawler. And then Rock came back to feud with Cena, and Miz kinda fell to the background.

Anybody Thrilla 05-08-2012 04:47 PM

Truth is a tough dude for that.

Keith 05-08-2012 04:49 PM

It's a miracle he wasn't hurt. He fell flat on his back from like 10 feet. He's lucky (and so is Miz).

But we ALSO forget that The Miz had one of the sweetest entrance videos in Wrestlemania history, which is more important in the long run. :shifty:

whiteyford 05-08-2012 04:52 PM

Think he's just lost in the shuffle and/or being given the stop start treatment. Getting moved across to Smackdown wouldn't hurt, although that doesn't mean as much as it used to with the 'supershows'.

Anybody Thrilla 05-08-2012 04:53 PM

It's not going to bode well for The Miz when Wade Barrett comes back, either.

whiteyford 05-08-2012 04:55 PM

There's always OCW:shifty:

Swiss Ultimate 05-08-2012 04:56 PM

As much as I love The Miz he's not going to be a "dominant" champion, heel or face. He's a guy who is willing to bend the rules and is characterized by his intelligence and his drive to succeed.

He's like a Sgt. Slaughter/Bobby Heenan type. He's never going to have a Triple H/Hogan run with the title. I still love him.

But that is exactly how you booked him in DWW! :shifty:

Swiss Ultimate 05-08-2012 05:40 PM

He feuded with Rey Mysterio and Rhino.

Edit: Key word I'm looking for is "fantasy". He'd have been a great champ in 90s ECW, way better than Justin Credible.

Ah, shit, that's unfair to Swagger.

GD 05-08-2012 05:44 PM

Last year, during the tournament finale (after MITB) on RAW, I was so convinced that The Miz was going to defeat Rey Rey and win the belt. Huge disappointment.

Nicky Fives 05-08-2012 05:59 PM

Little kids hate him and grown men don;t buy him as a legitimate threat (thinking that they could kick his ass)..... that's his problem..... he needs to get bigger or change his attitude (mean streak/viciousness).....

Yes, totally Miz not being himself.

Didn't grown men think they could beat up Shawn Michaels? And didn't they actually do that at one point in a bar?

Miz's win record was quite impressive when he had his push. Hence your argument is invalid.
