The Official Barnett vs. Cormier aka Remember When You All Said the SF HW Tournament Was A Great Idea Thread?
This is actually a pretty compelling main event matchup and decent card.
Barnett vs. Cormier Melendez vs. Thomson Kyle vs. Calvacante I hope Cormier gets the W because I think he has a better chance at a long run with the UFC. I don't see Dana keeping Barnett around very long because it's probably a matter of time before Barnett says something that pisses Dana off or Barnett just pisses hot. Melendez should put a lid on his SF run and make a compelling case for the UFC after Thomson. There's nothing left for him in SF after this. |
On fucking PPV here.
Barnett needs to win this shit, backed ma boi since day 1 |
Him & Corimier seem too chummy with each other man, dont think this is gna be a good fight at all tbh though
|
They do seem too friendly. Barnett needs someone he can play heel to and I don't think Cormier has the personality for it. I think he could piss Mir off epically though and I wouldn't mind seeing that in the future.
I don't think Barnett wants to wrestle with Cormier, but at the same time, I don't think Cormier wants to test Barnett's catch wrestling. With his size and reach all Barnett need is one of Cormier's limbs and it's over. I think it should be a good stand up match and even if it does go to the ground, both of those guys are talented enough that it should be interesting to watch. |
Melendez getting booed.
|
Overall a good show. I felt Thomson beat Melendez, I gave him rounds 3, 4, and 5 but it wasn't a "robbery". Close fight. Cormier has really come along ways in such a short amount of time. I look forward to seeing him in the UFC.

Overeem's suspension ends in December I believe. If Cormier's hand is heeled by then I wouldn't mind seeing Cormier vs. Overeem in a #1 contender's match on the New Year's Eve show.
|
Not a bad idea at all.
|
Holy shit. OVereem vs Cormier? I like it, I LIKE IT!!!
But Overeem may need to adjust to a, uh, horsemeat free diet ;) |
