Online Gaming: Console or Computer?
So uhh computer gaming (besides gunbound) had kinda let me down recently. There seems to be alot better stuff on console, and some games play better on console than on computer (Madden I'm sure...playing Madden online on computer was a pain)
So what do you prefer? Considering I've opnly just recently gotten my first console....(PS1...modded by me), I don't really know much bout the experience. I've contempated getting a console for the online gaming. I've heard good things about PS2 and XboX Live, and very little compaints. D/C's don't seem as frequent, and you don't have to worry about system specs or anything. So whats your choice? |
I picked computer but it was a tough choice. The thing is, I prefer FPS and RPGs on computer but there are some games that are better on consoles which I would much prefer to play on there.
Battlefield Vietnam, Unreal Tournament 2004, City of Heros are what leaned me to computer. |
Unreal Tournament 2004...
Halo 2... I've made my decision. Console games are just better to me. I've been playing Warcraft 3 online off PC and it's cool; but it's no Splinter Cell PT. |
<font color="#99CCFF">Console games are so easy to play.
Connection on, disc in, done. Plus you don't have the pro's going "OMG DEI NOOB" all the fricking time. People on console gaming seem to be a lot kinder, and more forgiving to mistakes, plus will help you out and teach you tricks and things. Which is nice.</font> |
Starcraft is on PC, 'nuff said

Now pray for that superhero creation game to come soon... |
Anyone who mentions Starcraft 64 needs to stop playing video games forever.
|
lol
I agree, people on SOME console games are nicer but when I tried to pick up and play on SC:PT there we're some people that complained just as much. When Killzone and Halo 2 come out, I might be able to say that console games are right up there. |
I dunno, i'm not sure what games are online playable on GC and PS2
PC is better, communication wise too |

PC is waaaay better for online FPS's, I only ever really play them on PC anyway :-\
Untill I find a decent online game for PS2 (not including So-Com, which i should really start playing again) I'm gonna stick with PC online gaming. |

They both have their own strengths and weaknesses. The end. </font> |
Computer.

PC hands down.
Only thing that consoles have on PC is less cheating, and less ability to cheat. but anything consoles can do, PCs can do better. |
Computer.
You don't have to buy extra things or pay a yearly fee... |
Well to be fair, if you're gonna go that route, consoles are generally cheaper than PCs.
True you don't have to buy memory cards and the like, but you have to basically pay a bit of money every few years to make sure your PC's upgraded fine to play the latest games. Even then, you still would have to pay for some other extra items, as most PCs don't come with controllers/microphones/etc |
Voice Chat....you mean like Path Cleared, Medic, All Clear, I'm An Engineer?
Computer all the way. |

Yeah, but PC's do so much more. Internet. Music software. Graphics software. Plus you can easily <s>download</s> access music and games. |
No don't get me wrong, PC wins this battle by a landslide. Just saying, don't be fooled by thinking a high-end PC is only gonna cost you like $300 or something
|
Computer.
First Person Shooters and RTS (and Champ Man) are like the only real games that I play so PC is way better in all those categories. |
Computer. More choice.
|
console by far.

I've just never owned a current console before, and I've always wondered if I should. |
Computers can do so much more than consoles though.
And while we are talking about cost Console games tend to cost more. I know its small compared to the outlay of a computer just thought id mention it. |
Computers, by far.
