I really think that War Games at SummerSlam could be a pretty sweet angle. Brock Lesnar is one of John Laurinaitis' chosen men, isn't he? CM Punk, John Cena, Sheamus and Triple H all have problems with John Laurinaitis. Just throw in Randy Orton to the babyface side, and have Johnny Ace round up Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, Chris Jericho and Tensai to fight against the babyfaces. If Tensai has been too depushed by this point, I guess you could have a re-pushed Miz in there; or even Dolph Ziggler.
Anyway, that should totally be the SummerSlam main event. |
I have given up on WWE ever doing War Games. Triple H loves the concept and has been pushing for it, but it still hasn't happened and I don't think it will as long as Vince is around. I still think they could do the same match format/rules in a Hell in a Cell, but it wouldn't be as neat as 2 rings and the long cage.

Now is really the perfect time to do it, too. The stories heading into one right now would be absolutely brilliant, especially in the heel's motivations for helping out Johnny Ace. I've decided that Tensai should definitely be replaced with Dolph Ziggler. I'm even thinking that perhaps Chris Jericho should be taken out, and that The Miz would be better suited to the match. Not that it would boost the quality in any way, but I feel that Jericho has less of a reason to be in there, and would be better used putting someone else over on the card.

That being said, I feel that the WWE would be also be dumb not to do CM Punk vs. The Rock at SummerSlam. So how about taking out Punk, and maybe just having Triple H, Cena, Sheamus & Orton face Lesnar, Big Show, Del Rio & Ziggler? That would be pretty fucking epic PPV right there, but then you've also got potential matches like Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara and Christian vs. Chris Jericho on the under-card. Throw in a TLC Match featuring teams that are trying to get noticed -- The Usos, Epico & Primo and Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel -- and the PPV could actually be really memorable for kick-starting a post-SummerSlam blitz of awesome.
