IT’S TIME, IT’S TIME, IT’S VADER TIME!!!!!!!

It was great to see Vader back, and he looked awesome in the ring for his age. He still has it, and I wouldn’t mind seeing him in a couple more matches down the road, including the Royal Rumble, to put over some guys or squash a few jobbers. He should be in the Hall of Fame next year.

Sepholio 06-12-2012 11:53 PM

He should have an occasional match yes, but nothing more. I don't know if you noticed but he seemed to be having trouble standing up due to his weight and that can't be good for him at his age. Don't want to see a legend get hurt.

Nicky Fives 06-13-2012 12:00 AM

As much as I love nostalgia and despite how well he did in the ring, there are more deserving people on the roster who deserve the TV time.....the one-off appearance was more than enough......

#BROKEN Hasney 06-13-2012 01:59 AM

While I enjoyed it, his flab was pinning him to the mat and he was like a turtle on its back.

Vastardikai 06-13-2012 03:46 AM

It wasn't really the flab that was giving him trouble as it was his knees.

But still: Vader at 57 is more mobile than Great Khali.

My grandmother at 71 is more mobile than Great Khali.....

I haven't seen man boobs like his since I last got out of the shower.

Keith 06-13-2012 09:20 AM

It was ok, but he's old and overweight. That's a heart attack waiting to happen, so he should just play it safe and not come back.

Fignuts 06-13-2012 10:09 AM

That was a relatively special crowd last night too. I bet most other places on WWE's road map, Vader would have come out to crickets.

Keith 06-13-2012 10:11 AM

Shit, I remember one time he came out and when he jumped out of the ring to leave, he fell on his ass.

MoFo 06-13-2012 10:51 AM

Should be Tensai's manager, Jap connection and all.

Fignuts 06-13-2012 10:54 AM

Managers typically talk a lot, often in place of the wrestler.

Vader is a monster, but he can't talk for shit.

Triple Naitch 06-13-2012 10:55 AM

Vader rules. Apparently he dropped like 60 lbs. he looks just like he did in 1996.

Fignuts 06-13-2012 10:56 AM

Were you wearing beer goggles when you watched raw?

edyhdrawde 06-13-2012 11:18 AM

He should be fed to Ryback and sent on his way. I know the roster is supposedly thin right now, but enough with the "old" superstars.

Schlomey 06-13-2012 11:25 AM

I loved it. A FEW matches and appearances here and there would be greatly appreciated. I marked.

That looked painful for Slater. I thought that was a great send off for Vader as a last match. Maybe have him come out acouple of times with his son if he makes it to the main roster but other than that I'd say no

DAMN...that was a good return! I want to see VADER come back full time and KILL John Cena.

DAMN!

Vader got an alright pop I don't think it was as big as he had hoped when he first came out but it got loud enough for him at one point. I Never was a Vader fan always hated his music. But it was fun seeing him again after all these years damn head shrunk, his mask looked so small on him that I wasn't sure if it was him at first. Definately something that should just stay as a special moment.

whiteyford 06-13-2012 04:13 PM

Love Vader so he can unify every title as far as i'm concerned.

XCaliber 06-13-2012 04:20 PM

I'd be down for a few other matches but that about it.

Emperor Smeat 06-13-2012 04:24 PM

Favor it as a one-time appearance but do like the idea from the RAW thread and another thread about every week has a different past wrestler showing up leading up to the 1000th RAW episode.

It would also depend on the crowd since the crowd reacted well to Vader but at the same time was pretty active during the whole show unlike previous crowds being mostly quiet during shows.

Triple Naitch 06-13-2012 09:29 PM

Totally forgot that Frankie Stechino had a younger brother who Vader said was going to be just like him.

FourFifty 06-13-2012 09:40 PM

Slater made Vader look damn good.

Tom Guycott 06-14-2012 02:01 AM

He got a "you still got it" chant from the crowd, and he moved well enough considering his age and the weight on his knees.

It was awesome though, and it's not like the requisite sightings of Hacksaw, Piper, and Slaughter. They're pretty much always the "guest Legends", and it is generally boring and sad (unless Piper is promoing). Vader was a worthy surprise almost up there with Steamboat (Ricky is an anomaly, because he not only could still go, but put on like 3 amazing matches with Jericho).

Plus, Vader is coming into the territory of more current Legends that some fans who started watching in the 90s may actually remember seeing.

XL 06-14-2012 05:37 AM

It was a nice little surprise (or it would have been if not for reading a spoiler here) but he really isn't as mobile as he would need to be to have a full time return. They could make him an enforcer for someone, maybe Big Johnny but I'd be more inclined to reserve him for a surprise Rumble entrant and a Hall Of Fame spot next year.

edyhdrawde 06-14-2012 07:58 AM

It's funny that you would mention a Hall of Fame spot. I remember when Vader first appeared in the AWA as Leon "Bull Power" White, I never thought he would be around for long. He was just a vanilla babyface. Then he found Big Van Vader and actually found a niche for himself.

I remember in one of Jim Cornette's rants that Vince wanted to completly wanted to change Vader's mask, rename and market him as just "The Mastodon".

I like how Tensai (I think) used the Vader Bomb earlier in the night and it was kicked out of.
