Which legend will Heath "The One Man Job" Slater job to next?

Good to see Slater was used to put over another legend. What or who is next for him? I really do hope whoever they bring back next week at least gets booked for a match.

Legends - 3
Slater - 1

Even in the role of jobbing to legends, I can't like Slater. He's a fine wrestler, he's got a terrible look and he's cringe-worthy on the mic. Those traits don't lend themselves to a gimmick that is based on verbal arguments with legends leading to squash matches or no match at all. They lend themselves to putting on good matches on Superstars against the rest of the curtain jerkers and maybe getting a 5 minute opportunity to job every once in a while on one of the major shows.

Pretty much. After the hoopla of the 1000th episode is over, poor Heath Slater will be back on Superstars if he's lucky.

The reason he "gets" to job is because he is just so god damn unlikable. Putting a trusty heel like Ziggler or even a reliable face like Ryder would get a lackluster reaction on live TV. Someone who everyone just hates like Slater is a guaranteed way to get a positive reaction for the returning guy and gives the One Man Band a little bit of coating for his career.

yeah he is getting real heel heat, i am liking him, but i think he will last past the 1000 ep. he is there new chavo or brawler, he will be the heel jober that faces will beat up.

Autobahn 06-20-2012 07:53 AM

He needs to further the one man band character, like how the west texas rednecks and 3 count furthered their characters. Coming to the ring in standard wrestling gear singing will only get him so far

Ultra Mantis 06-20-2012 08:30 AM

I guess somebody has to be the Chavo. Once this legends routine is finished they can just stick him in an eagle costume and push Jack Swagger.

hopefully that singing was a one time thing, allthough they could bring back jimmy hart and that would be a killer stable.

Yup decent wrestler, needs serious mic work... I cringe as well... Nice jobbing to the Legends tho...

Gertner 06-20-2012 12:12 PM

Slater brings a Miz level of aggravation when he's on T.V, and that a good quality that many heels don't have. He's very dislike able.

His song was mint though.

#1-norm-fan 06-20-2012 04:11 PM

Miz was believable as a douche. Slater comes off as a terrible actor trying too hard to be dislikable while looking like Wendy.

St. Jimmy 06-20-2012 05:47 PM

X-Pac heat.

Shisen Kopf 06-20-2012 05:51 PM

Slater and Ryder should team up. Tell me it wouldn't be cool to have a teamed called Zack and Slater.

With Kelly Kelly as their manager...

I'm glad they didn't have him job to Cyndi Lauper in an actual match! Schneezus Heist, Dupertar! Bury your Slaters! :nono:

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-21-2012 04:09 AM

It's pretty much what Chris Jericho's and later the Miz's feuds with the guest hosts were. Except they were good at it.

Impeccable 06-21-2012 07:48 AM

I actually don't mind him..........

Mr. Nerfect 06-21-2012 08:26 AM

I love Heath Slater. I don't think he's the best performer ever, and he still seems somewhat awkward on the microphone, but in the ring he is good, and when it comes to making people look good, he is mint. Slater is being given the role to make these oldies look good, and it's got to be an honour for him to get in the ring with all these legends and celebrities and have a good time.

That idea of Zack Ryder & Heath Slater forming a tag team with Kelly Kelly as their manager is absolutely amazing, though. Bring in Mr. Belding to show up now and then for segments with them. It would be absolutely tremendous and be a great way to segue Slater from irritating heel into likeable awkward babyface. Then comes the turn on Ryder, who Slater defeats en route to getting people to hate him all over again. The cycle continues.

Keith 06-21-2012 08:43 AM

If Heath Slater is going to do this every week, have him come out wearing a shirt.

I couldn't get my eyes off his boobage last Monday.

Gertner 06-22-2012 05:46 PM

Slater is so awkward and weird on the mic, that he's awesome

Seconded.

Mr. Nerfect 06-22-2012 07:56 PM

I loved a little eye roll Slater did at one point when Roddy Piper was talking.

Exactly. Heath is supposed to do two things

1 - Get the fans to hate him
2 - Make others look good/put people over

I think he's doing a pretty damned good job of both.

This is spot on. Thanks for not making me type it all out on an iPad.

DLVH84 06-24-2012 01:59 PM

I know some he should job to next...

Marty Jannetty
Road Dogg
Tatanka
Godfather
I.R.S.
Kevin Nash
X-Pac
Perry Saturn
JBL
Booker T
Michael Hayes

Mr. Nerfect 06-25-2012 03:47 AM

Heath Slater is seriously one of my favourites. I feel really sorry for those who cannot understand just why Slater is so good.

Mr. Nerfect 06-25-2012 03:58 AM

Heath Slater puts the universe into perspective:

Mr. Nerfect 06-25-2012 03:58 AM

I would absolutely love to see Marty Jannetty versus Heath Slater on RAW. Bring back Shawn Michaels to close the segment with a Sweet Chin Music on Slater.

Mr. Nerfect 06-25-2012 04:00 AM

I've decided that Heath Slater should be a heel that acts like a babyface. His face promos are somehow less awkward than his heel promos. Just have him act like everyone wants to see him and is part of the Slater Squad. He can be that annoying guy that always shows up to the party.

#1-norm-fan 06-25-2012 04:02 AM

Jesus, I don't think I can handle the awkwardness of the Wendy's chick and Derrick Bateman in the same ring at the same time with microphones.

#1-norm-fan 06-25-2012 04:04 AM

However I now feel like a Bateman-Slater team where they do cringe-inducing promos before matches ala Ryback's jobbers could work for a month or two.

Anybody Thrilla 06-25-2012 04:10 AM

I really liked Slater in the Piper segment. What I REALLY liked about that segment though was Michael Cole singing along with him. I laughed SO hard.

Razzamajazz 06-25-2012 04:35 AM

his bitch tits make him awkward to watch

Anybody Thrilla 06-25-2012 04:40 AM

Did you feel the same way about Trish Stratus?

Razzamajazz 06-25-2012 04:43 AM

yes. i mean no.....maybe?

Anybody Thrilla 06-25-2012 04:46 AM

One of those is probably true. I'll allow it.

Was Heath Slater claiming to be as good as JTG there?

Vastardikai 06-26-2012 03:05 AM

10 folks I'd like to see Slater job to:

10. Ron Simmons
9. JBL
8. 1-2-3 Kid
7. Taka Michinoku
6. Gangrel
5. Doink the Clown
4. Val Venis
3. Fake Razor Ramon
2. Steve Blackman
1. Damien Demento

Correct it as you see fit.

SlickyTrickyDamon 06-26-2012 03:06 AM

Taka. Slater you JACK ASS!
