Steiner Bros

Was watching Royal Rumble '94 not so long ago.
That was freaky (pardon the pun). I assumed Rick Steiner was Scott Steiner and vice-versa.

Anyone else think the same as I?

Originally, yes, I did. I thought for some reason that he was the Dog-Faced Gremlin, until I realized, "Hey wait a minute, I thought Rick was the ear-muff-wearing dude?" And he was. Then I looked closer at some pics/asked the same question on this site.

HELL YEAH, I always thought that, I was so confused when I was told differently.
"so the thin one is now the chunky one??" :wtf:

Looking back on it now, I can say Scott looks pretty different back in '94 but back in '94 we were use to that look for him.

PureHatred 05-07-2004 12:15 PM

No, but I was a Rick Steiner fan from his UWF days with Sting & Eddie Gilbert.

Vastardikai 05-07-2004 03:18 PM

And I was Rick Steiner fan from shortly after his Varsity Club Days.

Varsity Club = Most underrated stable ever.

I saw an episode of WWF wrestling classics on sky the other day the Steiners were on and I was really amazed by Scott's stamina and moves, my friend recently told me that he suffered a back injury which stopped him from doing most of his moves, after the injury he got on the 'roids and became what he is now. I'm not sure I believe him, but damn was that an entertaining match!the only Scott Steiner match that has ever entertained me

Funky Fly 05-07-2004 03:36 PM

Yeah, I saw an old Japanese match: Steiners vs Sting and Great Muta.

Scott was waaay smaller and much faster/skilled then. It was a sweet match, btw, despite the dusty finish

Its weird when you watch the old tapes of Scott Steiner and compare him to how he looks today. He looks a hell of alot different. If I hadnt seen him already like he was in the past then there would be no way that I would actually recognize him.

The Mackem 05-07-2004 03:51 PM

They had a decent match at Royal Rumble 93, it's at that period I remember them most for.

You're friend is exactly right. Those recurring back injuries were so bad apparently Scott bulked up to strengthen that area of his body. Can't really comment about the steroids, as I don't claim to know for sure, but he definitely was way more muscular and wrestled very differently after the back problems. In his day, Steiner was one of the best athletes in wresling. I saw a couple matches where the Steiners used a tag finisher where Rick had the opponent sitting on his shoulders (ala the Road Warriors' Doomsday Machine) and Scott came of the top ropes and hit a Frankensteiner aka huracanrana.

Incredibly impressive froma guy that size.
