Fantastic look, and reminded me a lot of The Brood. Of course then Epico was brought up to the main brands to team up with Primo and Raquel Diaz stopped appearing with Conor O'Brian and Kenneth Cameron. These two wrestled as a tag team:

Intro promo (5 min in) + match from this week's NXT. A squash match with clear intention to push them- hard.

I personally can't wait for them to develop enough to be promoted to Raw. A very edgy gimmick in the land of PG but, more importantly, the only tag team apart from the Prime Time Players to have actual personality. Triple H did say he wanted a better tag team division and this is on the right path. Thoughts?

The fact that NXT/FCW is up makes me very, very happy.

They look like a good tag team... they have a good look great gimmick, but a weird finisher...

I like the fact that its a tag team not just two established singles wrestlers. They aren't calling them "evil" so it could work in the PG Era.

Has potiential- has that kind of flavor to fill the Undertaker void without being too forced (see Kevin Thorn). I agree with Duke that the Downcast* is kind of wonky, only in that it depends entirely on how well the guy taking it sells it from both parts... especially the jawbreaker. It's not as sloppy as PTP's haphazard doomsday device, but both teams have time to work on that.

I'm kinda geeked to see that they're following through with Braylon Mercy. That gimmick has the potiential to go places much like "the original" could have, and be akin to something cerebral and great; like Raven.




*A plus in it's favor, however is that it IS a named finisher, and JR immediately put that over. Not just a "oh, what was that?" and refering to it as "that move!" for weeks on end. How are Ross and Regal not on Raw or Smackdown?

Don't think Brayy Wyatt lasts too long in a PG WWE. Have a feeling somebody is gonna cry or bitch or moan and he'll be Husky Harris again.

The gimmick may be dropped quickly, but Windham Rotunda will remain Bray Wyatt and be a major player on RAW or SmackDown! before too long.

I really enjoyed The Ascension on NXT this week. I loved the style they presented them in, and they are a team with personality. I like that they are actually a team that has a common theme, similar aesthetics and a tag team finisher, but still have their different vibes. To compare these guys to The Brood is not unfair at this point. I hope that we get to see them develop into prominent tag team players.

Also, Jim Ross and William Regal were fucking amazing as a commentary duo.

They kind of seem like they should be fighting Spiderman.

I kind of want to see Ascension on the main roster already.

I like their music. They look better without the ugly bird with them as well.

That "ugly bird" is Eddie and Vickie Guerrero's daughter.

They will never amount to anything in the WWE.

Oh, I thought I'd seen pictures of her in the past where was pretty good looking. It might've just been the daft faces she was pulling in those clips while she was trying to look all gothic and stuff.

Change the finisher... Leave the intro, I love the city scape... The intro video was movie promo quality they should keep that. You can sell tees that have black light effects so the crowd can feel like part of the effect when they arrive in the WWE...

I was thinking Batman, but yeah, same thought. During the zoom-over-the-city opening part, I was expecting inspirational words from Michael Caine.

I could easily become a mark for Kenneth Cameron's magic glowing hand. Love the extremely quick tags too.

Of course all of that is irrelevant when your segment is followed by Johnny Curtis.

Is it just me or has the WWE made Seth Rollins (Tyler Black) into a CM Punk knock off?

I love the idea behind Husky's new character. Hope it sticks.

I've already spooged over the Ascension in the NXT thread, but I really really hope that Ricardo gets a bigger speaking role and less comedy in the future. He sells that shit and with a decent explanation as to why he's there when he's Alberto's ring announcer.

Watching the FCW Ascension promo though, it is a real shame that Epico isn't part of the group. It would have been a little re-hash of Edge & Christian by the Ascension coming on Smackdown and Primo trying to save Epico from staying there as one. While I loved the Brood when they were united as Gangrel with both E&C, the Edge and Christian relationship wasn't really done very well before Edge joined. Probably to do with neither man getting speaking time and Gangrel being god-awful on the mic, but they could have done it even better.

I noticed that too. The whole "I'm my own man" thing made me chuckle incessantly. Waiting for punk to walk in on one of his promos and say "... you're a poser!" & slap him like he did with "Prince of Punk" Shannon Moore.

Kind of enjoyed Raquel being miced up during the match as well.

Not saying it's ripping off, but the reason why Ascension as attracted me is becuase I used to like watching vids of The Black Family from AAA.

If they put a hot girl with them again, too bad they couldn't use their song.

Yea, I like the gimmick... but I don't know if Husky is the right guy for it. Personally, I thought he was at his best when he teames with his brother. It would be great to add the Rotundo brothers to the tag team roster too.

He has got a similar style to CM Punk, in that he's got that indy alternative guy look -- but he actually reminded me more of Jeff Hardy in his promo.

Yeah I wasn't agreeing with it, but obviously some people find the smallest things to make the biggest similarities.
