I used the list found here of the top characters from each side, I then seeded the top 32 against each other.
DC will always face Marvel Characters and vice versa. If there is an uneven number, the difference in top seeds from the winning side will get a bye (I.E 14 Marvel vs 18 DC would mean the top 4 for DC gets to set out the next round) We will do this until we have the champion for Marvel vs the champion for DC. Each round will last a week. Use whatever criteria you wish to make your choice. |
These are all like completely one sided match ups... except for maybe superman and scarlet witch.

Interesting matches. Mostly fascinated because some are absurdly one sided such as Silver Surfer vs. Robin? holy shit.
Some are pretty interesting though. Such as GL vs. Nick Fury. |

Rorschach is not a DC character. Yes, Watchmen was published by DC Comics, but it's not in the same universe as the main DCU, and it's published these days under the Vertigo label anyway.

Hmm, the Batman match is debatable.
If it's the usual "with prep time" argument you use for Batman, he might win, but if it was just a random unprepared fight, who knows? Also a lot of really awful one sided match ups here. Guy in a domino mask versus Power Cosmic infused Herald of Galactus being one of the more badly weighted ones on offer. :-\ |
I don't know half these guys, so I voted on the quality of the names. I feel it's important for a hero to have a good name.
For example, Blue Beetle vs Hulk. Blue Beetle sounds like something you could crush with a newspaper. Hulk sounds more intimidating. |
By that logic, Spiderman should have lost as well because Hawk > Spider.

I would also just vote Batman in every matchup. Even against Jean Grey or Scarlet Witch. He's the goddamn Batman.
I think you should have condensed the participants to make this quicker, no point having these utterly obvious squash matches in there. Also part of the fun with things like this is the discussion, skipping to the good matches quicker will yield the stuff of good nerdcore threads. |
