College Football 2012-13 Season Thread

Well, historically I haven't been a massive college football fan but I'm going for it this year. I know I'm going to at least one Cal game this year with my brothers boss, as he's alumni and a big Cal fan. Let the fun begin.

Supreme Olajuwon 08-10-2012 11:43 PM

lol Honey Badger got kicked off LSU

what a douche

Nark Order 08-26-2012 08:17 PM

Not as jazzed for this as I am for the NFL season but I've been getting College Football cravings all week long.

Emperor Smeat 08-26-2012 08:36 PM

Several predictions from ESPN favoring no SEC teams in the title game although Oklahoma seems to be the only one that was agreed by the experts to be in it assuming no shock upsets.

Megadouche Herbstreit says the National Title game will be USC vs Florida State. As a Sooner fan, I would love for OU to make it to the title game (and win this time).

Supreme Olajuwon 08-27-2012 11:41 AM

Kirk Herbstreit is a puppy dog. How can you hate that man?

 Towson coach yelling at his return team for tackling the guy going the wrong way.

Also  at some of them realizing that and blocking the other team from tackling their own guy.

Tom Guycott 09-01-2012 08:51 AM

Anyone have a stream?

I know this is usually reserved for PPV's and such, but I need my Buckeye fix, and don't have Big Ten Network. Also, pretty much the places I have appear to be British in nature, so there's the whole thing about "football" actually being soccer, and them not giving a flying fornication about U.S. collegic gridiron competition. :'(

Kris P Lettus 09-01-2012 10:41 AM

Looking forward to Shoelace vs the Bama D tonight..

Vandy looked pretty good last night with little Rodgers in their loss to SC.. Lattimore is a beast and will be a beast in the NFL..

And yeah, that's terrible. All those years of getting no respect for running the table when a team in the SEC is automatically considered "better" with two late season losses. Boise loses close and in heartbreaking fashion in the season opener and they'll be tossed into the sub-basement of the top 25 just from name alone and unable to climb out unless EVERYONE else above them loses big.

One more stone to build the wall of an actual top 25 playoff system. 4 teams is a great start, but still isn't a big enough bracket to take the argument away for someone who gets shafted with "strength of schedule" leapfrogs.

At least you're not a fan of Blue. Good job.

Besides the ranked vs ranked matchups, never bother to watch that much college football during the 1st week or so since majority of the time its just blowouts for ranked teams.

Michigan vs Bama should be a great one unless Bama's D just flat out dominates the 1st Q. Denard Robinson easily becomes the front runner for the Hesiman if he plays well and Michiagn wins or keeps it very close.

James Steele 09-01-2012 04:12 PM

Bowling Green up on Florida right now. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Fuck the Gators.

DaveBrawl 09-01-2012 07:34 PM

Colorado's O-line is just abysmal.

I do love the CU-CSU game every year, even though both teams generally suck, it usually turns out to be a pretty good game.

Kris P Lettus 09-01-2012 07:42 PM

Southern got murked by Nebraska..

:(

This 25 yard touchback shit is weird..

Team Sheep 09-01-2012 08:05 PM

Thoroughly enjoyed the Tennessee game last night. And the SC/Vandy game on Thursday.

Now let's go Michigan!

Team Sheep 09-01-2012 08:05 PM

Nebraska game was a bit boring.

Evil Vito 09-01-2012 08:53 PM

The Michigan/Alabama game has been a flop. :(

Ermaximus 09-01-2012 09:29 PM

Florida State will not be in the BCS Title game.

Team Sheep 09-01-2012 09:38 PM

Yawn Alabama. So predictable. Clemson/Auburn is much more fun.

I'm honestly surprised Clemson isn't doing more damage, good for AU I guess.

Emperor Smeat 09-01-2012 09:52 PM

Hate to be Floyd Mayweather right now considering he supposedly bet $3 million on Michigan to beat the spread.

Only way he will cover is if Sabban has Bama play more relaxed in the 2nd half or some sort of potential shenanigans occurs.

Gertner 09-02-2012 08:34 AM

Oh Denard Robinson, that was cute.

Yeah, I ended up watching more of that game than Bama/Shoelace..

The announcers pissed me off though acting like it's the fall of the mighty SEC because a ranked team who won the ACC last year beat an unranked team who haven't won shit (8-5) since Cam Newton left.. Andf it was a close game that came down to the final possession..

p.s. Floyd Mayweather wipes his ass with $3 mill..

James Steele 09-03-2012 01:47 AM

I'm sick and tired of the SEC circle jerk. It isn't the conference that wins all those titles, it is those top tier teams that dominate that won those titles. It is a deep conference, but so is the Big XII. I hate the SEC chants and shit because it enables every fan of one of the shitty/subpar/underachieving SEC schools to act like they are hot shit.

 @ the thought of Vanderbilt thinking they're hot shit.

James Steele 09-03-2012 09:54 PM

Franklin is going to make Vandy more relevant than they perhaps have ever been if he stays long enough, but I don't think Franklin will be in Nashville very long. The top of the SEC is no doubt the best football teams in the country, but the quality of depth in the SEC isn't want people say it is. Just like every other major conference, the SEC has 2-3 elite teams always in the mix for the National Championship, 3-4 good teams that can upset a big dog at any time and then 3-4 shit teams.
