Best Wrestler #2
The Macho Man snapped into the Slim Jim that is Taz's spine, pummeling him mercilessly to advance to the second round of our tournament. We will see Mr. Savage again shortly.
Many people voiced concerns that the first matchup of our Best Wrestler Tournament was too lopsided and easy. Somehow I don't think we'll have that problem in matchup #2. <hr> http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images...e.jpg?x=173608 The Undertaker vs. http://www.pwpix.net/superstars/s/st...eve-austin.jpg "Stone Cold" Steve Austin 3 days. <select><option selected="selected">Best Wrestler Tournament History</option><option>#1. Undertaker. Close one here for me, but he's had an amazing career, and has managed to keep his character relatively fresh during that time.
Too easy for me.
Did not care for Austin unless he was a heel. Taker wins hands down. |
I had to pause and think, but I'm siding with the Undertaker.
STONE COLD STONE COLD STONE COLD
Taker. I think he's generated more revenue over a longer period of time and is one of the only 5 guys i think belongs in the Greatest of All Time conversation.
who are the other 4?
hogan flair misawa and rikidozan
Taker and Hogan make the list for money reasons almost exclusively. Taker has left a very imnpressive legacy as well though. Flair for the ammount of stars he made while making huge money. rikidozan for they way he shaped the entire industry (and thus making it profitable one) and misawa for his workrate and drawing power.
HBM Kobashi Inoki and Babba are on the bubble for me.
Stone cold! Stone cold!
Edit: thought I was going to be the funny one to say it first |
Taker it easy.
I love them both but I'm going with Taker for longevity
Too hard for me to pick. I won't do, I JUST WON'T DO IT!!!!
I pick Stone Cold
Austin, arguably the biggest star in the sport. Love 'Taker but his early years were dire due to his gimmick, Austin's always been pretty solid and one of the best talkers ever.
almost too close to call..... gotta go Austin.....
Tough choice, could've gone either way. In the end I just panicked and clicked on Austin.
Tough round. Reluctantly went with Austin. Undertaker has had an amazing, legendary career, but nothing can beat those few years of Austin when he was on top, just so incredibly entertaining and great at what he did.
Well, when I say 'nothing', I mean there are some things I enjoyed more, but nothing that I can think of that came from the Undertaker.
Also, stop being nitwits. Austin is the guy that made the WWF popular again during the attitude era. And to a lesser extent DX. I like the Undertaker but he's not a draw like SCSA was. During the mid 90s when Bret and Taker were the two big draws the WWF was pretty awful and WCW owned them. Plus UT loses points for bringing that troll faced Sarah to the WWF back in 01.
Not really hard at all. "Stunning" Steve Austin was incredible back in WCW. Then he completely changed up his style, became "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and revolutionized wrestling. It's seriously almost like he was 2 different people and both were perfect at what they did.
The Undertaker is the greatest gimmick of all time. Take that away and I don't think Mean Mark is getting the chance to put on the best matches of his career with Shawn Michaels in his later years. Kudos to him for putting on some classics post 2000... but Austin blows him away in every category imaginable. |
Un-der-ta-ker *clap clap clapclapclap*
lover Taker and he does nothing but cement his legacy the longer he goes which really is phenomenal but it's Steve Austin every single time. Only area Taker really has him beaten is longevity
Went with Austin. Excuse me, because this tore me apart inside.
The Undertaker was around for the good times and the bad, but Austin made the good times greater.
Hard choice, but going with Stone Cold. (Give Supreme a Kick Wham Stunner for randomly picking this match up.) |
Enjoyed more Taker stuff tbh.
Austin.
I agree that the only thing Taker has over Austin is logevity. Was there any kind of seeding system for this or was it all drawn at random? This seems like it should be at least a semi final match |
I hate you for not liking the same guy I like!
Went with Undertaker on this one....I liked Stone Cold, but enjoyed Taker more.

I went with Undertaker. I liked him much more then Stone Cold.
Way better match up from the last one. Macho Man demolished Tazz rightfully so.
This is tough. Austin did so much as Stone Cold in the WWF/E. Not to mention his technical skill as Stunning Steve in WCW, often being one of the most entertaining on the show while he was there. But Taker's just been around for so long. And he made his streak at WrestleMania more important than the top belt.
Undertaker. Much as I hated the American Badass gimmick, few wrestlers have ever been able to re-invent themselves so completely, so convincingly, and with as much success as Taker has multiple times over two decades. Austin did it once, but found one aspect of his gimmick that worked and ran it into the ground. Taker was consistently adding things to his act as he got older and now with his career essentially over, he's better than he's ever been. By the end of Austin's career, I shuddered at the sound of glass breaking.
there is nothing random about the match ups. supreme said it rightk tpww has been choosing how this would go down for the past 4 years.
Austin is the better in ring wrestler, but I couldn't stand him as a face during the McMahon/Austin angle. I also loved Taker's different incarnations through the years, so my vote goes for [teddy long] THE UNDATAKAH! [/long]
