Would Sting work for WWE

It's hard to see it happening, cause he's 53 and still has a contract with TNA but I think everyone wants it to happen, will it?

It didn't work because you added URL tags inside the embed code. :y:

Realistically, I could see Sting in their Hall Of Fame down the line, as well as a DVD documenting his career, but that's it. But I believe it'll happen when Sting retires.

Oh thanks, Idk why youtube added the URL tags inside it, it's never done that before....

If they paid him an extreme amount of money to fight Taker at Mania, he would do it...... but WWE won't give him Lesnar money, as the younger fans wouldn't give 2 shits about him, while the Internet marks would jizz in their pants.....

Steveviscious89 08-13-2012 10:13 PM

He wouldn't do it on a full time basis and even in a one shot deal it would have to be a lot of money. But honestly, I don't think he cares so much about the money anymore as much as how comfortable he will be in the working environment. He has said that he just had a bad feeling about working there because he feared he wouldn't be used properly. See he is in a position where he doesn't necessarily need to deal with the WWE's BS, so he just chose not to. In some ways I know how he felt. I've turned down certain jobs because something didn't seem right about it.

Curtis Anderson 08-13-2012 10:33 PM

I think Sting never working for Vince is his niche claim to fame. He can be one of the most popular superstars of all time to make the hall of fame, and his hall of fame appearence will be the first time to appear on wwe television. (unless you count wwe internet television)

Ruien 08-14-2012 12:54 PM

He will never wrestle a match for the WWE.

CSL 08-14-2012 12:57 PM

it could happen. It most likely won't given his age, previous opportunities etc but there's no way anybody can state with any kind of accuracy that it will never happen, much stranger things have happened

Brigstocke 08-14-2012 03:12 PM

Yeah like that time I took Iginfests anal virginity.

CSL 08-14-2012 03:19 PM

pffft, I totally saw that coming, pullable hair and all that

Ruien 08-14-2012 03:25 PM

I give it a 0% chance of happening. Maybe you want to give it a 5% but I will stick to saying it will not happen.

Of course I can't say with correct accuracy because I am not Sting. I am Ruien.

Corporate CockSnogger 08-14-2012 03:33 PM

I've had short hair for like 18 months now :'(

CSL 08-14-2012 03:35 PM

nobody mentioned any kind of time frame http://www.tpww.net/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif

Corporate CockSnogger 08-14-2012 03:41 PM

Look, just because we're on your turf in the wrestling forum doesn't mean you get off that easy.

KaosDarksol 08-15-2012 07:43 PM

I'm Going to say that at this point no but he might be associated with wwe in the future

taker707 08-16-2012 01:11 PM

he said that he was very close to signing with wwe. when the whole cabin thing was happening.

Anybody Thrilla 08-16-2012 01:37 PM

I don't know if it will happen, but I don't see it being entertaining in any way at this point.

Pretty much what was said here. I think the win over Hogan at BFG 2011 was a good final main event for the two of them (personally, the psychology and build up for that match made up for Hogan's physical condition). I also have to respect Sting putting over Bobby Roode as World Champion at Victory Road and Slammiversary this year. I'm sure he could have pulled a power play and written another world title run into his new contract but it doesn't seem like he did.

Side note, if WWE did make a DVD about his career they would have to leave out his reinventions as the bulked up hybrid Sting in 06 (the black/ white paint with the red or green mixed in) and the recent run as the "Insane Icon". I think those are important to show his versatility and ability to rejuvenate his career.

Taker it Easy 08-17-2012 01:51 PM

Sting would stink up the WWE even more than the management currently does.

Sting is old, looks bad and out of touch.

But maybe he could co-write a christian fairy tale with Lex Luger.

Taker it Easy 08-17-2012 04:28 PM

It should be noted that I loved playing as sting in WCW vs. NWO Revenge.

Awesome reverse DDT, "Scorpion Death Drop".

I would most definitely read such a story. Maybe they can collaborate with Jack Chick to produce a wrestling-themed Chick tract.

Pintint 08-18-2012 08:16 PM

I hope not. I love Sting. And I like the fact that he's never been through the WWE machine.

CSL 08-18-2012 08:34 PM

becauseeee?

Because they'll mess with my classic memories of him and somewhere, somehow, screw it up. Turn him into something different. Do something lame. Have him job to someone. I dunno...

CSL 08-18-2012 10:38 PM

ahhh you're doing that "WWE is bad!" thing, gotcha

Not really, WWE isn't "bad", WWE just isn't WCW. I was a big, big fan of WCW back in the day and WWE does things in their own style. I don't want to see Sting used in WWE's style. I'm sure it will happen eventually, money speaks well and TNA is always a mess, but I'm not gonna be excited about that.

+1. WWE has a history of changing characters from other feds. Sting owns his ring name and likeness, but by golly, WWE will steal both (or rather, require him to sign both over via contract) if he signs! :'(

Stinger, thank you for being true to yourself and staying out of WWE! :)

Curd 08-19-2012 12:57 AM

I should also add that, unlike certain other legends, Sting married a wife who won't divorce him and raised children who don't cause car crashes or waste tons of money pursuing a stillborn "singing career." He's financially secure for the long-term.

Yeah, and he doesn't screw younger, newer talent over like Hogan and Flair does. And unlike Hogan and Flair, Sting really helps the newer, younger talent out and puts them over really well like he did with Bobby Roode at Slammiversary. So, whenever he's needed, he's always there to help out.

whiteyford 08-19-2012 03:18 PM

I've said before in the some of the, many, other Sting threads that he'd only come in if it was something he actually wanted to do. If the rumours are right, he earns around $500k a year for working a handful of dates pretty much in his backyard, and while he might not have the rep Hogan/Flair do for backstage politics its not like he wouldn't have the stroke in TNA to get his own way if he felt the need, which isn't something he would have in WWE.

I wouldn't mind him coming in as part of a build to the HOF and a 'Mania match though, just have him appear the Raw after 'Mania to announce his induction and a retirement tour, let him pick some guys he wants to face on PPV, give a few matches over to WWE.com polls even, and put a dvd out at the end. You'd get a few once in a lifetime matches, and if its only on PPV the mystique isn't watered down as much. They've got enough video footage to build him as the greatest wrestler since Gotch if they want too.
