Fuck. People need to let it go.

Volare 08-22-2012 11:57 AM

Are people that want the old ECW back worse than the guys who want the WWF Attitude Era back?

The Jayman 08-22-2012 12:11 PM

they're the same people

Swiss Ultimate 08-22-2012 12:29 PM

Yeah, we are. I admit it.

That said, I don't want hardcore back.

Tom Guycott 08-22-2012 12:33 PM

The first 20 seconds has us starting at a sky through a barbed wire fence like some sort of inmate during yard time. I'm riveted!

Swiss Ultimate 08-22-2012 12:37 PM

I hope it's better than the indie wrestling doc I tried to watch on Netflix.

whiteyford 08-22-2012 12:42 PM

I'll probably end up watching it depending on reviews, if its the same as the others probably not though, only so many times you can hear the same story.

Card Subject to Change?

Yeah that was pretty shit.

Tom Guycott 08-22-2012 12:46 PM

You mean "Backyard Dogz"?*

Given the nature of the footage, I'd be interested in seeing some of the then/now reactions of some of the people filmed and see how their views have changed about a decade later.

However, that prolonged intro has to go. Would be great in the film itself artistically, but in a commercial to get people to help fund your project, you just ate up 20 seconds of your commercial with dead air.

*That's a joke. Watched that excuse for a movie when I worked in a Clerks-esque "shitty video store", and I imagine this flick is what inspired the "brain trust" of OCW to think themselves somehow Cinderella's fairy godmother will BIBBITY-BOBBITY-BOO them into becoming a legitimate fed.

Swiss Ultimate 08-22-2012 12:48 PM

Hanso, yeah that was it. Didn't make it very far.

You know, I still get really excited when Joel Gertner responds to me on facebook. Or when Mike from MST3K posts something.

I'll always be a geek and love ECW and the good parts of the Attitude Era. I might even end up watching more of these documentaries. Why not? People in the 90s were still buying tapes from the 80s...people now are still buying documentaries and tapes from the 80s after all. It will never end.

Here's a new clip:

this actually looks pretty interesting.

Saving Grace 09-07-2012 03:42 PM

i'm suprised meltzer was as unbiased as he was in that response

Fignuts 09-07-2012 04:53 PM

Jesus Christ some of the comments in that video are completely retarded.

Saving Grace 09-07-2012 05:37 PM

yeah but i'll still probably give this a watch regardless just to hear what the people have to say fig. But some of the commentary I will agree was downright garbage. Interesting to see what, if any commentary they have from ECW's loudest mouthpiece, Shane Douglas.
