HBK.

whiteyford 08-30-2012 12:39 AM

Austin was better overall IMO

Lock Jaw 08-30-2012 12:50 AM

This is easily down to Taker/HBK for me. (Y'know since I didn't care for Steve Austin as a face)

Undertaker has always been one of my favorites and is a big part in why I went from casual wrestling fan to hardcore wrestling fan. Always been absolutely captivated by Taker.

I hated HBK back when he was a douchebag, but his matches were always amazing... and after he came back from his injury and was no longer a douchebag, I could appreciate him in other ways too. No denying he is one of the all time greats.

I am going to have to think long and hard about this one.

Curd 08-30-2012 02:59 AM

I chose Shawn because he:
1) Put over Undertaker cleanly almost the same number of times he defeated 'Taker by outside interference over a decade earlier -- a good sport.
2) Passed the torch to Stone Cold without complaint in 1998 -- a marked change from when he balked at jobbing to Vader.
3) Can produce a 4-star match with a vacuum cleaner like Flair can with a broomstick!
4) Stuck it to Hogan by comically over-selling for Hogan at Summerslam '05.
5) Has the grace to remain retired in a world of fake retirements.

#1-norm-fan 08-30-2012 03:05 AM

Not so hard, this one. HBK

Tazz Dan 08-30-2012 03:29 AM

HBK.

Kane Knight 08-30-2012 03:31 AM

I didn't even have to hesitate. All three had strong qualities, but HBK is way above the crowd. Any crowd.

Road Warrior 08-30-2012 03:51 AM

Austin for me, doesn't matter though HBK gonna win. In fact he's gonna win the whole thing.

drmayberry7 08-30-2012 03:53 AM

All 3 are in my top 5, but going with HBK because he's at the top of my personal list.

Rammsteinmad 08-30-2012 05:35 AM

Shawn Michaels.

Nicky Fives 08-30-2012 05:47 AM

The Showstopper

I actually think Savage will win the whole thing.

The final will most likely be Savage vs Michaels.

You certainly aren't and nobody has suggested throwing you out...

XCaliber 08-30-2012 10:49 AM

Of these HBK since he was the best one in each category overall.

KaosDarksol 08-30-2012 11:25 AM

Austin out of favoritism

Joesgonnakillyou 08-30-2012 11:38 AM

Austin, he was like Hulk Hogan but actually great in the ring.

but HBK is gonna win the whole thing

Wanted to vote Austin, but realistically it's HBK.

Yeah not sure if that's true.

Keith 08-30-2012 12:57 PM

While "Stone Cold" was doing his post-match press conference, HBK caused a scene by storming off and kicking a door open as he was leaving, most likely out of frustration, given that at the time he thought he was finished.

It's on one of HBK's dvd's.

Also, both Undertaker and Austin have spoken about the fact that there was doubt about whether Shawn would do "the right thing" at WrestleMania 14, and that 'Taker, as the "locker room leader" was watching the match very closely to see if he (Shawn) didn't do what he was supposed to do (It's on an "Off The Record" interview Undertaker did).

So I wouldn't say HBK passed the torch to Austin "without much complaint". I don't even know if you could say that he "passed the torch" at all.

Still, he's one of the greatest of all time, if not the best.

Emperor Smeat 08-30-2012 12:59 PM

Stone Cold.

whiteyford 08-30-2012 01:01 PM

Not sure how true it is but wasn't 'taker sat in the gorilla while the 'mania match took place because HBK acted up before the match and talked about not doing the job?

CSL 08-30-2012 01:04 PM

more than one guy in the locker room claimed Taker taped his fists up as some kind of "intimidation" towards HBK to make sure he did the job. Was towards the end of the mad "cliquey" locker room times where everybody seemed to be part of some kind of group

Keith 08-30-2012 01:05 PM

Yeah, that's what I was referring to.

It's on this video, at 8:38

If someone can help out with the embedding, that'd be swell.

Lock Jaw 08-30-2012 01:14 PM

Eh, screw it. I'm voting Undertaker.

Lock Jaw 08-30-2012 01:15 PM

Taker should at least beat Steve Austin. :shifty:

#1-norm-fan 08-30-2012 01:37 PM

Damn. Knowing HBK is probably gonna win this one I should have saved my vote just in case it was needed to allow Austin to beat Taker.

Gertner 08-30-2012 05:34 PM

Taker with the win

Ah, I see now. Thank you for clarifying, Keith!

Joesgonnakillyou 08-31-2012 09:19 AM

Austin is criminally underrated on TPWW!

Rollermacka 08-31-2012 12:30 PM

Thisis a hard choice, all three are awesome wrestlers. I have to go with The Undertaker. He has pretty much changed what it means to be a "big man" in professional wrestling. He started off as a lumbering generic big man, but he started adding in diffrent submissions and strikes. He made it so that a big man can be quick and agile. Nobody would have expected that "the Dead Man" would still be going strong 20+ years later, but he's still arguably the biggest draw the WWE has.

Saving Grace 08-31-2012 02:15 PM

As much as of an HBK mark I am, i voted for Austin simply because of his contribution to the revolutionary launch of WWE and wrestling into world audience with the Attitude Era. I think Shawn Michaels and HHH can be credited for having a distinct role in pushing the envelope and laying the ground work for the Attitude Era, but Austin took the ball and ran with it. For that he gets my nod alone.

Rock Bottom 08-31-2012 02:15 PM

Steve Austin is my best.

Michaels is my 4th or 5th.

Taker's on their level, sure.
